Guy has a LNIB 686 SSR Pro 4" has both sets of grips. This gun has the slab sided barrel and the dreaded IL. Comes with plastic case and all docs. Are these any nicer or have many improvements over a standard 686 other than a wolf main spring? I already got a 6" 686-2 that I am trying to sell and I got a 3" CS1 686 that I will never sell. he is firm at $675.00 Opinions please I don't like the IL but I am not interested in debating that as it has been beat to death.

I've shot the SSR and it seemed reasonably well-tuned. Any 686 I'd buy would get tuned anyway, so I personally opt for a standard 686. But if I didn't want to deal with getting one worked one, I'd seriously consider the SSR. The interchangeable front sight alone is a very nice feature, and would cost you roughly $200 to have such a system installed on a standard 686.

my local shop has a new one for a little over $800 that has been calling to me in my dreams........ I've resisted so far as I already have a 686 Talo w/3" barrel but it is a sweet looking/feeling gun

If I had the $ on hand I would buy it at that point.
