tightgroup tiger January 10, 2013, 04:48 PM Does anyone make oversized grips for a SP101. I have the Houge hard plastic grips and I'm having trouble with it slipping around in my hands.
The factory grips seemed to small for my hands and the Houge hard plastic grips do fill my hand better but I'd like to find grips a little larger than them.
Any suggestions?

beag_nut January 10, 2013, 05:16 PM Did you get the Hogue nylon grips? They are quite hard.
Hogue also makes the exact same shape in softer rubber, which is what is on my 4" SP101 (which I bought aftermarket). Made a world of difference.
tightgroup tiger January 10, 2013, 08:24 PM I thought about buying a set of the soft ones but I was hoping someone made a set that was larger then they are.
I will have to try the soft rubber ones and hope for the best.
PBR Streetgang January 10, 2013, 09:06 PM I have a SP-101 with the Hogue oversized soft rubber grip and love it.

herkyguy January 11, 2013, 11:05 AM Hogue rubber is great. I highly recommend giving it a try.

Remllez January 11, 2013, 11:25 AM Spend $15.00 on a soft rubber grip (sleeve.) I'm not sure but I think Hogue makes what your looking for. If it's a carry piece it won't make it much harder to conceal which is good, but it will make it infinitely easier to grip and handle even with sweaty mitts.
If you've never used one it may be worth a try. If it is a range shooter, by all means try the Trausch or a custom manufacturer.
RugRev January 11, 2013, 04:43 PM If you are willing to look at wood grips the Hogue woods usually are a bit larger than the non wood grips. Herrett's will make grips to fit one's hand. If you buy directly from Jim Badger he will make grips to fit one's hand, too.
Cocked & Locked January 12, 2013, 09:03 AM Pachmayr Compaq grips for the SP101 are bigger than the factory ones...not much longer (if any) but fatter. Down side is the Pachs are noticeably heavier. For my hand, I like these better than the Hogue rubber ones.

Seafarer12 January 12, 2013, 11:51 PM I have the Hogue rubber ones on my SP101 and I would be hard pressed to find a better grip for me.
tightgroup tiger January 17, 2013, 07:51 PM I bought and just received the Houge rubber grips. They are a 100% improvement over their polymer grips.
Sweet as hell. I was afraid they would be to soft but they are like my Pacmyer grips on my model 28 smith from the 1980's.
Love them!!
Thanks for the good advise
mesinge2 January 17, 2013, 08:04 PM Cool!
460Kodiak January 18, 2013, 09:59 AM Badger Custom grips makes a good set of grips that are full size, but they are laminate wood, so they are less grippy. They also change the grip angle a bit
