and I'm going to need a bit of help, guys. The gist of this article will be to point out that our (MN) Sr. Senator (Dayton-D) voted for the AP amendment. I followed the debate somewhat on C-Span, and I certainly followed the 1805 threads here, so I've got some resources--but

1. I work about sixty-seventy hours a week, and
2. I need some research help--

at this point, I'm asking for links--links to the kind of factual information about the votes, what was voted on, etc. that I do NOT want ANY errors in.

The thesis is, of course, that in voting for SCUBA Ted's amendment, Dayton--an the others, effectively voted to ban hunting rifles. A secondary theme, needless to say, is that Democrats want to take away all our guns--period. And, I want my recitation to be absolutely error free so the fear-ninnies can't divert and pick at it.

With a bit of luck, this "commentary" can get published in MN where it counts: when OK City happened, it was my commentary on the anti-gun editorials that was published in the Mpls StarTribune. I also have some 'connections' to other news sources that may help disperse this.

I see this as the thrust of a major tool to arouse the sleeping hunters. Here in MN, it should be very effective--in fact, in the five state area as well, if we can get it out there in many different forums.

With a bit of luck, this article will be written so that any of us can pick up the facts of the debate, set in our own Senator's vote and his part in it, and go after them.

So, if any of you can help with the research, please do so. I'll be reviewing our own threads again over the weekend.

Note that Teddy was joined by his longtime protege, John Kerry, in that vote.
