Ruger has a link on their home page that says "take action now". Click on the page, fill it out and hit "submit" and a letter will be sent for you to all of your local, state and national representatives, up to and including the President. It's never been so easy to do something so critical. If you enjoy your rights, please participate in fighting for them now.

Ruger has made this really really easy......and the sad part is people will still try to find an excuse not to do it.
"oh, i dont trust Ruger...that Bill Ruger supported the AWB"
"oh, i dont want the govt to put me on 'the list'..."
"oh, those standardized letters dont do any good"
"oh, its a waste of time, my reps are all anti-gun anyways"
"oh, im too busy to spend 5 mins to send an email"
suck it up, if there is a 'list' you are already on it....make your opinions known or stop calling yourself a gun owner.

^^^and to add to that, wether it be a hand written heart felt letter or a form letter in this situation it doesn't seem that any "holds" should be barred for lack of a better term!

Easiest way I've seen to contact all the relevant persons in one step. If you haven't written yet, there's no excuse not to do this.

I'll be honest, I feel weird sending my info to anyone, even my reps. or the President, but I'm trying to get over that for this... lol

hrmm....i think i called this in post #5.
Ruger firearms didnt support the AWB.....Bill Ruger did.
Bill Ruger has been dead for the past 10 years.......quit pinning the political beliefs of one man on an entire company.
i think the Ruger 556 is a testament to just how much they support a new AWB.

Done also.
But don't you all think this writing the "politicians made easy" effort by Ruger, ought to be spread to all the forums....hell this is the first time I've been here....spend all my time in reloading.....okay....maybe some time in Handguns. :)
Seriously....this is important to the survival of Highroad.org we have a lot of power by numbers here, unless you keep it hidden here in this corner.

Bill Ruger??? ("no private citizen needs a magazine of more than ten rounds") nor his company is a friend of mine. If you want to write your congresscritter show a little American initiative and draft your own letter.
Simply tell them to abide by their oath and that nothing else is acceptable.
This kind of laziness and blind following has gotten us to where we are today.
Wake up, folks and just tell them NO.

Yes, Bill was a traitor. But he's not alive anymore so it's kinda hard to do him any harm. As for the company, if this is their way of trying to make amends, I think it's a good start. I try to always give people and companies the opportunity to make amends.

Don't start. The old man is dead and cold in his grave. This is the ruger that sells AR-15 with 3 30 mags standard. Ok?

This is tired, worn out talk. The old man is long dead. It would be my presumption that the same, long dead old man, probably would not have support an AWB today. The nature of the American Shooter and the guns they buy have change a great deal.
Lot's not turn this thread into Ruger bashing. Let's not behave as if we live in the Balkans and nurse grudges for 700 years...shall we not?

You can usually just unsubscribe (especially with elected reps) with just a click of a link.

Bill Ruger was trying to reach a compromise with Congress to save his company and the industry. If you guys have forgotten, the entire gun industry was under government-sponsored attack during the Clinton administration. His words were taken out of context and twisted to mean something not intended. He's been dead for ten years, get over it already.

Whomever wrote the letter did a good job of capturing a few salient sound bytes and wrapping them with a key executive summary - we care about this issue, and while we may not be the ones screaming the loudest we still are expecting our needs to be addressed.

Also a great way to capture email addresses for online marketing. I'm not saying this is a bad thing either. I've bought enough of their guns, I don't even mind getting an email or two. Well played by Ruger, in my opinion.

It was so easy even a guy trying to balance a particularly grabby/squirmy kid on his knee can do it in under a minute.
