My hunting buddy has moved on to a better place... Makes me sad. She was a good dog and companion. She was laid to rest in the hills that her and I hunted coyotes for. Just how she would have wanted.

I condolences, I know what it feels like to loose a "pet-child"/best friend. Looks like you had some good times together though, I hope those memories will endure and bring a smile to you for the rest of your life.

She got loose today and I did not know it. Went looking for her and found her on the side of the highway. She got hit by a car or something. Was dead when I found her. It was 6 degrees today and when I found her she was still warm. Makes me sad. Only If I had realized she was out a few min before I did she might still be here.

I am sorry to hear this. She was a great looking buddy. I have a terrier mix(45lbs) that is my buddy. Where ever I am, she has to be.. It truly breaks my heart over your loss. I know how quickly they become a member of the family.

So sad. Sorry for your loss. Don't worry about the kids too much. In my experience they are very resilient. I always had a harder time loosing my dogs than my kids did.

My first dog was a "Daisy" too. Almost every dog I've had that was good was run over by a vehicle even though I live on 60 acres and the house is over 100 yards from the nearest road. Half of the time I was the problem for letting them stay 'on the porch'. Of course they didn't.
I got an e-collar for the dog I have now and taught her that roads, cars, and snakes were BAD. It has worked so far. She is 7 years old.

I hate to hear of a fine dog getting killed and know how you feel. When you're ready to replace Daisy, think about aversion training with an e-collar.

Sorry for you loss. Pets become family and are very hard to let go. The last one I had died of old age. She was a house dog and stayed inside unless she needed out for her duties. She would not even chase cats or any thing except a ball and her toys. It was very hard to put her down when the time came. Again, sorry for your loss. I hope your children do not have a hard time with it.

Sorry for your loss.

We have had a couple of Golden's over the years which have been put to rest on our property in the country where they loved to run and chase the critters.

I know your feelings on your dog as that was exactly how we lost our first, he got out somehow and got hit just down the road from our house. We received a call from the vet that someone had brought him in, and were there when he was put down.

There is somewhere another one out there with a heart just as big, and a wanting to serve and be loved just as much, and is waiting for you to come into their life.

The one we have now was simply one that was picked up by an officer at the PD where my wife works and hauled into the station. He was a foolish little thing with a head almost too big to walk with. He has grown not only into a great dog but also into a great companion and dedicated friend to us and our family.

He will never take the place of our previous friends, nor will any new one you take a liking to replace your loving friend. But they will do their best to relieve any pain and give you as much happiness as possible.

God Bless,

Jack R

Very sorry to hear this. You were kind enough to send condolances my way when I went through the same thing a few years ago. I hope you find comfort in the memories you made with your dog. Although nothing will ever replace Daisy, there is truth to the old saw that nothing heals the loss of a dog like puppy breath.

Sorry for the loss of daisy, she looked like a good friend. I have had people tell me they are just a dog, if you ever truly loved one, you know better. The bond is indescribable.

Your new friend looks like quite the sweet heart, a real cutie. I wish you many happy years on the range together. Please post pics. I love dogs more than most people and never get tired of looking at thier pics.
