I'm new to reloading and I'm wanting to reload some 40 S&W first and then possibly some 308 Winchester. My question is what is the best bullet to shoot for practice / plinking? I have bought some lead round nose bullets from BSL bullet works and was wondering what you guys thought about those.

Also, I'll be using Power Pistol to start with and the only SPP primers I could get my hands on were magnums... Any thoughts there?

I have been using Berrys HBRN 155gr. http://www.berrysmfg.com/product-i14643-c14-g8-b0-p0-.40_Cal_155gr_HBRN.aspx, I also like Xtreme 165gr FP http://www.xtremebullets.com/10-40-165-RNFP-p/xc1040-165rnfp-b1000.htm.
I'm using around 7.4gr of Power Pistol for the 155gr. Shooting it out of a XD40 subcompact and it is very manageable and fun to shoot with.
Thanks
Mike

I have had great luck with this company. I don't reload the 40, but use them for 9mm, 45, 38/357 and 44. Reasonable prices and quick shipping.

I have used Z Cast for cheap plinking loads. They only have 1 40 bullet, 180gr LRN, but they shoot nice and are cheap.

Missouri Bullet Company makes good stuff for good prices as well... if you can get through. I'm sure they're crazy busy right now.
I also recommend tjconevera for berry's
