Load request (for 8mm Mauser)

I am having trouble finding data for a 220gr bullet in the old 8m Mauser. Anybody have a good recipe? I'd prefer something in IMR as maybe in IMR 4350, but I'll take anything right now for the heavy bullet. THANKS.

I've used the load successfully on Wyoming elk. Let me upload the Access graphic with my load data in a little bit.

I have a large qaunity of 220 gr 8mm Sierra bullets from when a friend's father in law died.
I also got allot o 200 gr Sierras that are very accurate* with 47 gr IMR4895 at the 50 kpsi level. I get pressure signs starting at 56 kpsi and bad at 66 kpsi.
I will try the 220 gr with 51.7 gr IMR 4350 or 45.5 gr of IMR 4895, as that is the 50 kpsi mark.

Here's the load I use for Sierra 220gr GameKings in my 98 sporter, with Accurate Arms 4350, European-spec pressures:

Thanks for the help guys. BTW, the Sierra Game Kings are what I have too. I figured the long, heavy bullets would shoot good. We'll see!

Ever wonder why European 8mm ammo kicks so hard?
Quickload says the max pressure for 8mmJS per CIP [European] is at least 56.5 kpsi
=============
In the past with 200 gr:
Quickload says for 29" barrel, 200 gr Sierra, and 50 kpsi I will get:
1) 2662 fps with 47 gr IMR4895
2) My chrono is measuring 2630 fps from my 29" barrelled 1903 Turkish Mauser and I am getting 1" groups:)
CAUTION: The following post includes loading data beyond currently published maximums for this cartridge. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither the writer, The High Road, nor the staff of THR assume any liability for any damage or injury resulting from use of this information.
Quickload says for 29" barrel, 200 gr Sierra, and 59 kpsi I will get:
1) 2800 fps with 50 gr IMR4895
2) I am getting a slightly sticky bolt in my 1903 Turkish Mauser
Quickload says for 29" barrel, 200 gr Sierra, and 67 kpsi I will get:
1) 2889 fps with 52 gr IMR4895
2) I am getting a very sticky bolt in my 1903 Turkish Mauser.
=============================
In the future with 220 gr:
Quickload says for 29" barrel, 220 gr Sierra, and 50 kpsi I will get:
1) 2541 fps 45.5 gr IMR 4895 88.6% case fill with that bullet
2) 2576 fps 51.7 gr IMR4350 102% case fill
3) 2634 fps 57 gr Re22 110% case fill
======================
Gewehr98's above load
Quickload shows 46 gr AA4350 and 220 gr Sierra from a 29" barrels as:
2278 fps 31.9 kpsi
AA shows 51 gr AA4350, 220 gr, 2274 fps, 42.4 kpsi, 24" barrel, compressed
http://www.accuratearms.com/loaddata_caliber_rifle_standard_323cal.htm
They have other loads to 58.2kpsi
Gewehr98, I think you got the "SAAMI 35,000 psi" mixed up with the "European-spec pressures"

SAAMI can kiss my &#@ when it comes to 8x57 Mauser loads, they're the ones responsible for domestic 8mm ammo behaving like .30-30 Winchester.
Accurate Arms list a SEPARATE page for Euro-spec 8mm Mauser, that's where I started with the load I listed above. My 8mm sporter has a 22" barrel that looks like 20 miles of bad road inside, but the rifling is still pretty well-defined. That's 7" less burn time than your 29" Turkish Mauser, so the difference in velocity from your calculations doesn't surprise me in the least bit. The only reason I haven't replaced the barrel is because it'll give me 3/4" groups off the bench. Then I have to go home and strip out the copper fouling. Once I can no longer take whitetail and elk with the old girl, then she'll get a new barrel.

Critter,
A load I use in 8mm, with a 220 grain Sierra Game King, uses 43 grains of IMR 4064. This is an accurate load in my Mannlicher-Schoenauer, but is not for everyone. The overall length is pushing it, and its a stout kicker. The bullet was, to my understanding, developed for the Remington 8MM Mag, so at the velocities I get, around 2550 fps, it acts more like a solid. \
The performace on Hogs is awsome though. It will drill a piggy stem to stern, or vice versa
