Mystery cartridge identification!

I ‘m trying to identify this cartridge for a friend! He has approximately twenty boxes of this ammo packed in what looks like original plain white cube shaped boxes with no label. I did a little research looking in reloading manuals and on search and could not find a match. This cartridge is shorter than anything I could find. Please review the dimensions list and the attached pictures.
Mystery cartridge approximate dimensions:
Bullet dia.: ~0.310”
Overall cartridge length: ~2.190
Case length: ~1.520”
Case head dia.: ~0.440
The number 13 and 88 are stamped on the case head

Made by Pretoria Metal Pressings (South Africa).
A lot of it was imported in the mid-90's.

Non-corrosive 7.62x39, used in the AK-47, SKS and some other rifles. If he wants to sell it he should have no problem doing so.
