Sorry for my lack of technical knowledge. I saw on a list that the M1 carbine is banned, but I was wondering if the m1a is also banned. It's a gun I've wanted for some time now and didnt know if I'd ever be able to buy one due to recent events. Thanks and sorry for stupid question

Connecticut has not passed any new legislation, so if it wasn't banned from being owned by you last year, you can still own it.

The list that you saw is only for New York, it does not affect CT.

Huh? There haven't been any federal bans passed. M1 carbines and M1As are still perfectly legal to buy, sell, own, etc. We ARE in CT, so the M1A would have to be in a post-ban configuration.

No legislation has passed as of yet and there is doubt it will clear the House. So the M1 Carbine and M1A, as of right now, is not banned.

EDIT: Just realized the OP is in CT. May be a different animal. Sorry. :\

The executive order list does not involve a list of banned firearms. It would require Congress to instate an AWB, not just an EO.

or if it was the executive order list. None of those bans could be enacted by an Executive Order as such bans require a change to the law itself which only Congress can do.

And the list of the new executive orders has been posted here already -- you'll find it includes a lot of vague and generally pointless administrative paper-shuffling, but nothing at all of direct action against guns.
