Has anyone used GARDNERS CACHE cast bullets?

I was thinking about placing an order for some .44 & .45's and looking for peoples input, good bad or otherwise.

Yes, I have bought bullets from them but it's been a few years. Had no problem with them when I did.

I've bought quite a few cast bullets from Gardner's Cache. Fine quality, fair prices.

Bought some 124 gn lrn and 230 gn lrn from Gardner's a while back. They were o.k. but I'll stick with MBC in the future though.

Jimbo53,
Interested as to why you prefer MBC.

Haven't been reloading to long, so I haven't used to many different bullets. Comparing MBC with Gardner's the base on Gardner's 230GN LRN was not beveled and caused me a little more trouble seating the bullet in the case. MBC just looked cleaner not as many casting marks. A few of the 9mm LRN I loaded just fell into the case, a little under size. That being said I couldn't tell any difference shooting them once I had them loaded.

When you step up to 357, 44 Mag, etc...., you'll appreciate a flat based bullet at 25yds and beyond.

Is there a down side to beveled based bullets?

They're just not as accurate as a flat based bullet.
The longer the distance you are shooting the more you can tell the difference. How much of a determining factor this is, is up to the individual. Your true target/hunting cast lead bullets in 44/45 are flat based with sharp driving bands.
A flat based bullet may be a bit more difficult to start in the case but I've never had any trouble doing it.
