A cat was bought online. It was tortured using a lighter and propellent. It's body was found in the woods. Oh, yeah, a Mom was stabbed 20 times in some store in the mall. More on the cat as details appear.

That's the way I read it. Nice reporting there...

To be somewhat on topic, I believe this case would have definitely involved shooting him as a simple "appearance" of a gun wouldn't sway him. The problem is doing so in a crowded store.

I bet you won't see any legislation being passed to outlaw the number of KNIVES you can buy in a month. I guess they just don't look as scary as a rifle with a pistol grip :banghead:

Some things make sense...but most of them don't.

We have no CCL in NJ and can't carry folding knives unless we can show they are work related or you in possession of a fishing or hunting lic. with appropriate equipment.......this state is the worst.....IMO.

No folding knives? That's ridiculous. I feel naked without my Spyderco.

Nothing..........rubber band guns and sling shots are prohibited in NJ Statutes.....seriously.

NJ has that fat slob of an anti gun, RINO want to be President, for a governor.

awful

but to all the CCW guys here (including myself) ... stabbing takes a few seconds and even if there had been a CCW holder... I doubt it would have made a difference.

also: the person stabbing usually stands very close to the victim... so it's probably very easy to hit the victim as well.

On the other hand, the lady in question had her defensive options completely closed off by NJ's onerous laws. You can't even legally carry less lethal defense tools in NJ.

So, whether or not any given option would have been useful in this particular case, it's still a crime that all options are off the table for the law abiding.

This isn't about a random person coming to someone's rescue, it's about the right to own and carry the tools required to rescue ones self.

It might not help stabbing victim #1, but it would certainly help keep victim #2, #3, #4 etc. from going into the victim column. Also, in a case of badguy vs. known target, say a domestic abuse/ex-partner situation, I would think it would be a good deterrent if it be known the target is carrying.

If this woman survives I hope she sues NJ for being put in a defenseless position. It endangers the lives of it's citizens needlessly. I'd bet she could make a good case for allowing some kind of SD for situations like this... less than lethal would still give her something other than just taking it.

NJ sounds like a great place to live if you're a criminal or a nut job. Why don't the citizens demand ccw and vote the anti's out of office??? Are they just sheep or what?

Anyone know what kind of knife he used?

If you believe the Cold Steel videos, knives are worse than shotguns.

If you believe Tim Lambert then knives are nowhere near as dangerous as guns. This is why guns should be banned.

Would be interesting to see if people are getting stabbed with glorified nail clippers/shivs or bowie knives.
