To my favorite THR members:
Does anyone know if there are any high power matches held in Northern Nevada/ Eastern California, especially the Carson/ Reno area? I am very interested in getting involved in the service rifle matches, and I am not having a lot of luck looking up any info for northern Nevada. As always, I welcome any advice, information, comments etc.

It does exist. You could start by checking the California Highpower site...hopefully those guys can point you in the right direction.

yes reno has one every month out at the pyramid lake range just north of reno.
winnemucca also has a monthly match also.
battle mountain has a few matches.
and I believe there are monthly matches in carson city monthly just east on 50 before mound house.
I also believe susanville has monthly matches also so I hope that helps as you need to just get ahold of someone that shoots in those.
try the nra directory for matches as that might help or the nevada state shooting asociation

oh yes I have shot at all of those places several times in the past and as late as 2 years ago at reno and winnemucca.
its not bad as usually you can do one on sat. and the next one on sunday.

That's great news! This is definately good to know, I'm on my way to saving up for my service rifle and it's great to know there will be plenty of places to shoot.
