I have got a nib Sig Mosquito. I as watching some youtube videos about reliability and lubing the gun. The video stated you needed to lube the hole in the slide by the safety on the right side of the gun. The video also said older sig mosquitos have the lube holes not the newer versions. I just got the gun from Buds. I am courious if this is old stock or not. Some say the newer sig mosquitos are more reliable. The reason I got the mosquito is a long story I have read the reliability issues. Any help is appreciated.

My older (5 year old) mosquito does have the lube holes. As far as reliability, I changed out the spring that was in the gun with the "white" spring that was in the box. I keep the rails greased and the run the pistol with plenty of oil I broke mine in with about 1000 CCI mini mags ( it ran 100% on those).l then tried about everything else. The only other rounds that it likes are Federal Auto Match bulk ( runs about 98%) and Federal red box bulk ( runs about 95%). CCI stingers work well also, but pricey. Anything else us just malfunction training.

I "had" one for a very short time. It was the older version.
I bought it on a whim, thinking I'd really like it.

Well it had reliability issues. Even with the weak recoil spring it wouldn't always reliably cycle even with high velocity ammo. I wasn't about to buy expensive ammo just to shoot it as that would defeat the reason for buying it.

The adjustable sights were nothing to crow about either.

I don't remember if mine had holes for lube or not but I do remember the only damnable ammo it would fire proper was CCI mini Mag's. Even then it required a thorough cleaning and started FTE after 150-200 rounds. Finicky and not worth keeping. No amount of tweaking seemed to correct this so I traded it in.
