doc540 January 22, 2013, 09:54 PM God Bless Texas
Carried my trusty Colt throughout my state capitol building.
They just swipe your CHL card instead of making you go through the metal detectors.:)

Deltaboy January 22, 2013, 10:32 PM That' s what I love about Texas. :D
breakingcontact January 22, 2013, 10:32 PM Nice photo too!
Man, Texas makes me proud!
doc540 January 22, 2013, 10:35 PM Thanks, but I borrowed that pic from another fellow Texas patriot at the 2nd Amendment rally last Saturday.
The pic I took isn't nearly as good. :o
Johnny Dollar January 22, 2013, 10:52 PM Visited Olympia,Washington last year. Went to the Capitol Building carrying. There are no guards or metal detectors. You just walk right in,go to the chambers everywhere.
And fantastic chandeliers! Every Capitol should be run like this. Congratulations,Washingtonians.

heeler January 22, 2013, 10:58 PM Eat your guts out New York and Illinois politicians.
NavyLCDR January 22, 2013, 11:15 PM Let's see... Texas... the state that requires you to obtain a permit which you have to pay the government for to conceal a handgun, which is the ONLY way you can carry it for self-protection. Exactly what is so great about that?
doc540 January 22, 2013, 11:18 PM NOT the only way to carry for self protection, but I feel your rage ;)
Texan Scott January 22, 2013, 11:20 PM Ask someone from Illinois or New Jersey ... or New York.

Are you from the state Capitol with no metal detectors and OC through the entire state?

Only 5 states don't allow OC. I live in one , the OP lives in another.
The Texans are calling out New Jersey now. Head for the hills! :D
kyletx1911 January 23, 2013, 12:59 AM Havent done it yet but real soon
slamfirev10 January 23, 2013, 01:17 AM may make a trip to the capital just to experience gub'ment done right :)
Mainsail January 23, 2013, 01:50 AM As mentioned above, we can carry in our state capitol in Olympia Washington. Unlike Texas though, we can carry concealed or open.
...and we have. :D
Ryanxia January 23, 2013, 11:15 AM It boggles my mind that some states don't allow OC. Seems like a good enough reason to raise a stink right there. Pretty obviously denying the Constitution.
breakingcontact January 23, 2013, 01:13 PM Eh, I wouldn't open carry if it was an option.
Paying for the permit/taking the class/waiting...I disagree with all of that noise though.
TX isnt as "wild west free" as some states and we don't have squat for public land, but its got more going for it than any other state out there. That being said...there are some other great states as well.
TX is definitely the leader of the free states though. (Not just on gun rights issues).
Grassman January 23, 2013, 01:30 PM Thank God I was born here in Texas!:D
Johnny Dollar January 23, 2013, 02:36 PM Thank God I was born here in Texas! :D
We're happy too! :D
