A person supporting gun ownership rights endorsing Kerry would be like the Ariel Sharron endorsing Yassir Arafat for the presidency of Israel.

I think what he means is we should make other gun owners aware of their voting records on S1805 and its amendments.

Also remember that Kerry voted FOR Kennedy's ridiculous "ban your hunting rifle ammo" amendment:

SEN. KENNEDY: Another rifle caliber, the 30.30 caliber, was responsible for penetrating three officers' armor and killing them in 1993, 1996, and 2002. This ammunition is also capable of puncturing light-armored vehicles, ballistic or armored glass, armored limousines, even a 600-pound safe with 600 pounds of safe armor plating.

It is outrageous and unconscionable that such ammunition continues to be sold in the United States of America. Armor-piercing ammunition for rifles and assault weapons is virtually unregulated in the United States. A Federal license is not required to sell such ammunition unless firearms are sold as well. Anyone over the age of 18 may purchase this ammunition without a background check. There is no Federal minimum age of possession. Purchases may be made over the counter, by mail order, by fax, by Internet, and there is no Federal requirement that dealers retain sales records.

Remind your hunting friends of this...

(Vote 00028 is for the Kennedy Amendment to expand definition of AP ammo)

I think "44" is absolutely right .....

We should never forget what the "we only want reasonable, sensible gun safety laws" Democrats tried to pull off - and in particular we should remember, "I'm a hunter too," Kerry.

Spread the word ......

What I mean is that it's up to Demo gun owners whether gun control goes any farther, or is finally dropped from the Demo party's platform once and for all. Demo gun owners need to vote a straight Republican ticket until their leaders get the message. This is the only thing that will work.

Only Democrats can save our gun rights.

I agree with 44, just remember how they voted come re-election time. Here in NYS we were able to kill a bill to add yet more fees to licensed handgun owners. This was done through intensive writing, emailing, calling... and reminding the Senators that we are voters that won't forget how they voted on this particular bill.

With the Democrats its all about divide and conquer, hunters vs. shooters vs. military rifle collectors, etc. Just remember to these morons ALL guns are alike, and you are not to be trusted with them...

I will continue voting the ticket that most supports my 2nd amendment rights...

Luis Leon

There are a few bad Republicans. But that's no excuse for a gun owner to vote for the Democrats.

Only Democrats can save our gun rights.

interesting point. never quite thought of it in those terms. I'm not sure Democrats much care about gun rights, unless it's a way to revoke them.i
