First time poster long time reader...

I'm looking to buy my first Sig and with the prices these days...I need a reality check. A local dealer has a used P229 .40s&W (in immaculate condition) for sale for $899. Comes with case and two mags. Seems to be awfully steep in the numbers, but I'm hoping all you sig folks out there can help me out with some quick feedback on this. What should I look to pay for this? What do I need to be looking for (questions) in a used Sig?

THANKS ALL!

I've seen used Sig P229 pistols on gunbroker.com go for in the $550 range. For $899 I think you could probably get a new one even now if you shop.

Lowest I've seen this is in the $725 to $750 range. I have seen the standard P229 in the $500 to $550 range. Not the two tone version.

Anything past 750 should be new, anything in the 700s should be like-new for SIGs. Some people seem to think they can sell used SIGs at new prices. New 229s in standard configuration are around 900. If the two tone thing isn't important to you, don't offer to pay a premium for it.
