Another newb question, but do they make a bullet puller that would fit in a single stage press??? If so is it adjustable or do you have to buy one for each cal. ??

As a newbie at reloading, I'll dodge your specific question by saying that I bought a cheap inertial hammer-based bullet puller from MidwayUSA for about $13. It has three internal collets included that appear to cover all the calibers I'd be interested in. It works fine, though when the bullet comes out, the exposed-lead nose does tend to be deformed. No big deal for me; I just toss them.

Look at the Hornady tool. Works well. Need a diff collet for each caliber.

I think most of the collet style ones are the same size as regulare reloading dies and will fit on a press with no trouble. I believe they are all caliber specific. You will have to buy the collet body and then individual collets for each diameter bullet you want to pull down.

Put a "wad 'em up" foam ear plug in the bottom of the puller. You won't damage any more bullets.

Thanks, Archie, I'll do it.

I thought the press bullet pullers tend to damage the bullet?

I have an inertial puller too, quite simple to use, though I haven't had to unload a lot of rounds the unfun way yet. Thank goodness.

The bullet pullers that is used on a press are called collet bullet pullers.
Yes, they do damage the bullets a little bit, but they are faster to pull bullets than the inertia/kinetic bullet pullers.

I remember reading an article about shooting experiments with deformed bullets.
The guy wanted to see what the effect would be of bullets with plier jaw marks, collet bullet puller marks, mushroomed tips and damaged bases.

The plier jaw marks and collet bullet puller marks didn't appreciable harm accuracy.
The mushroomed tips, did not appreciably harm accuracy either.
Another experiment was cutting part of the bullet tip away using pliers, and that harmed accuracy.
The damaged bases really harmed accuracy.

I remember loading Sierra Match kings and AP with bent tips to get on the paper.
The bullets with bent tips got better groups!

Anyway, I have the hammer, the RCBS collet pullet, and the Hornady collet bullet puller.

Don't get all three.
Just get a collet puller and the collet for your bullet size and get the hammer.
