Actually, closer to a Walther copy than a Mak copy. Only thing in common is the caliber.

The ones I've seen and handled aren't as nice as a Makarov.
If you can find a Bulgarian Mak for about the same price, even a little more, you should get a Mak...

I've never fired one of these, but I've handled a couple.
I can tell you that I've never fired a pistol that came out of Radom (Factory 11 or whatever the Reds wanted to call it) that didn't work great.
I can also tell you that the DA pull on the 64s I handled was a caution!
Go over to gunboards.com (their focus is much bigger into the surplus guns than it is around here) and see what the latest scuttlebutt is on the Polska P-64.

I did a range report on the P-64.
Check out the 50 yard groups with the P-64.
I liked my first one so much I bought 2 more.
And I'm a Makarov fan also.
All I have to add is check out the thumb safety. See that it works normally, not too hard to move On and not too easy so that it could move On due to recoil.

I've heard alot of bad about the P64's. Ask Kaylee's opinion on them. I was all ready to buy one until I read what some people had to say about them.

I acquired a P-64 recently and have shot it a few times. The gun is ok, but I prefer the makarov. The mak is more comfortable in my hand and has less recoil than the P-64. The Polish gun is pretty snappy. Some people have had trouble with the safety engaging with every shot, causing the gun to go "click". Mine does it every once in a while (once every 50 shots or so). Apparently, there's a fix for this problem, but I haven't been able to figure it out. At $150, the P-64 is a decent deal, but you're better off with a Bulgarian mak for the same price.
