So a guy locally has a pacific d-150 shotshell relaoder for sale. I was wondering if this is a good press? Whats a used one worth? and can you load slugs on these? I have reloaded pistol and rifle ammo for over 10yrs but never tried shotgun reloading.

I really like the old Pacific Presses. I've no actual experience with the DL-150, but it was the forerunner to the DL-155, which is a very nice single stage. Yes you can load slugs on it. I own a DL-266 Single Stage and DL-366 Progressive which will probably never leave my bench. Can't give you an exact value but if it was under $60, in relatively good condition, and included extras I'd consider it getting it. I got my DL-266 for $45 and it included 1000+ hulls and a new bag of lead shot (essentially the press was free). The Pacific Presses are a simple design and very easy to learn to load shotshells on.

Is it a local online ad or by word of mouth, might help to price it if we could get more info.

Very good, rugged presses but parts are a problem. Make sure you get all the spares the owner has squirreled away. I think Ponsness-Warren shot and powder bushings will work.

His price is high IMO from that description. You'd have to get exact details on the included extras (spare parts, type of hulls & quantity, type of shot & quantity, etc.). But if there are at least 4 bags of shot included (retail around here for a 25lb bag is $45) that puts a value of $180 on just shot, depending on the rest it could be a decent deal.

Parts are a problem, unless it's for common items like Primer system, shot and powder system, those parts are usually interchangable with the 366 stuff. Hornady bought Pacific out years ago, they still have some stock of parts on hand for replacements. For a manual just give Hornady a ring, they usually will send you one for free.
