Hello everyone, I've been looking for a small 20 gauge for my daughters to shoot, been looking at some online auctions and at my local gunshops. Haven't been able to find much locally. But today I stopped at a pawn shop that I don't visit very often and found a Turkish made Charles Daly 20 gauge field gun, vent rib barrel, semi-auto. Seemed clean and in pretty good condition with one exception, the forearm cap that holds the forearm and barrel in place is thin aluminum and is cracked from end to end. THey said they found caps for sale for around $15 but hadn't gotten areound to ordering one. I wasn't worried, thought I'd pick one up someplace. Bought the gun for $200 out the door, tax and all. Got home, went to the Numrich site and starting to worry as I've just discovered that Charles Daly is gone forever and some of the caps I'm looking at are out of stock.
Am I totally screwed? Is the gun junk to begin with anyway? Pawn shop isn't going to give me my money back so what should I do? I'm worried about shooting it as I'm afraid the barrels going to come flying off.

It's just an end cap, right? Any competent machinist could make one.
btw, the pawn shop you bought from might possibly be run by dishonest scum. One might consider never again darkening their door.

You know Tex, I was thinking that very same thing.
1. A decent machine shop could fabricate the cap for me.
2. Dirtbag pawn guys sold me a gun they know they couldn't get a part for.

Last time they get my hard earned $$. I'll stick to the local gunshop/pawn shop that I usually deal with.

In some locales, that might be considered a fraudulent transaction entitling you a refund. You might ask either a local attorney, or your local DA

You may want to see if one from an 1100 will fit. I had the same gun in 12ga and my 1100 cap fit on it.

Samco Global is importing the CD shotguns under a different name. You might try to see if they have the cap.

This is a long shot, but you may want to try calling CZ-USA. They are selling a 20 gauge semi auto that is made in Turkey. I have heard of other people with non-CZ Turkish gun that got help from CZ. It's only a phone call.
