Took a short time away from shooting black powder and was focusing on building collection of other firearms. But Sunday morning I visited a flea market where a good friend sells native American items. This time he had a reproduction of a 1780 Tower 65cal Pistol. Just waiting for my order of flints from TofW to test it out. Pic don't do it justice but it all I can get .

Looks nice! I have been wrestling with myself about getting a flinter. Right now I am leaning towards a kit pistol from Dixie Gun Works as I really enjoyed finishing my Pedersoli Kentucky Percussion Pistol kit and I enjoy shooting it even more!

Very nice gun, is it a smooth-bore? I noticed that it doesn't have any sights which makes aiming it a whole different experience. I have a Queen Anne .50 Cal smooth bore with no sights and after about 150 rounds I can get within about 5 inches from the bulls eye on a good day. The .65 Cal. is going to be even more fun..that is a big ball.
I have found that once the flint has been tweaked the flint ignition is fairly reliable compared to caps on my rifle.

I remember when those Tower pistols were being offered for little money. A bunch of fellows bought them. I must have hardened or replaced the frizzens on a dozen of the things. Best of luck to you but it may have a soft frizzen.
