Your best bet might be to buy a sheet of Kydex and find out.

No need to be sorry.

If I had any firsthand experience, or anyone else here had any either, they would be more then happy to help you.

I just thought for $7.00 bucks you could buy some kydex sheet, and blow out your air-brush on it between colors.

It would give you a pretty good idea if your paint will stay on it or not.

If I had enough artistic talent & skill to use an air-brush for anything besides bug spray, I would try it myself.
But I don't.

I sometimes make leather holsters, and I think an air-brush would be a fansistic method of applying leather die to hand-tooled leather.

But I can't try one, because I can't write my own name with an ink pin the same way twice any more!
