I placed an order for 8lbs of WST on Jan 5. Still haven't received shipping notice. Are others having similar results? I know it ships from manufacturer and powder valley has shown it in stock.

My last order from Midway (not powder, but reloading equipment) only took three days from placing the order to arriving on my doorstep.

All suppliers are backed up with all the panic buying right now, my order from PV just got here after a 6 week wait, be patient it will show up sooner or later.

I remember when I visited Powder Valley during the last panic. They told me how many millions of crates of primers they had on backorder. Sounds like this crisis will be worse, with PV having a 6 week backlog. By then they could easily be out of WST. I would wait a while longer before contacting Midway.

I had the same issue at wideners but, it was mostly because I did a internet search and it brought me to the page of the product I wanted. That page did not have the BIG red letters that said shipping was delayed 12-18 days.

It took almost a month to get my powder and primers.

It was a good thing I did not need it right away. I ordered from a local reloading supply store where I ordered about the same amount of primers and powder as I did at wideners a few weeks later and I had my package sitting at my door the next day!:what:

I ordered directly from PV on Jan 4, still haven't heard from them. I'd imagine that there is a huge backup.

The only time I ordered powder from Midway, it was a fiasco...not all their fault. Fiasco "none-the-less".

I love Midway for 99% of what they sell, but their hazmat items are a no-go for me.

Why not order directly from PV?

Made a Midway order last week. Arrived today including powder and bullets. Have to make sure every item you order is in stock. If ordering back order items, run on a separate order and eat the extra shipping.

An interesting note.----- Last week I went to the local Cabellas in southern Maine. I went to the reloading/firearms section mostly to look. The firearms were available but severely depleted compared to what they stocked 3 months ago. There were a lot of reloading tools/presses on display. The ammo was somewhat there but the popular calibers were all gone as well as the .22 rimfire. If you wanted 7MM REM MAG or 300 WSM no problem however. There were a fair amount of bullets there but nothing for loading 223 caliber ammo of any sort and the 30 cal choices were small. If you wanted H 4227 or H100 there were several cans of it there as well as a couple pounds of Trail Boss but I got the last pound of Lil Gun they had. About 15 pounds total on hand. Only one 100 pack of primers there and those were 50BMG.
My thought was if these big players (that stock literally a ton of haz-mat items normally) had no reloading supplies to speak of how do you suppose the popular online dealers stand through this latest rush on reloading components. If you got in a back order early then there is hope that you will soon get your stuff. I really feel sorry for those that bought that new 9MM and cannot find a box ammo to feed it let alone enough to practice some with it. One local reloader purchased a 45 ACP last week and found just this problem so I offered the use of my dies and some components to reload a batch of ammo until he can secure a steady supply and be able to restock what he used. I am sure this is happening everywhere so we all have to be patient and this too will pass (the ammo woes that is).

I had ordered some powder from Cabela's, paid the hazmat and shipping, only to later find it available cheaper (plus no hazmat or shipping) at my local gun store. Doh.

IIRC, Midway is one of the few retailers that ships their primers and powders separately.

Interesting status report from Valley Guns in West Virginia:

Status of gun industry

Attention F.B. fans: to follow will be several IMPORTANT Info updates about the status

of the gun industry currently, followed by an INVENTORY UPDATE: We traveled to

Texas for Industry meetings concerning the shortages, here's what we were told.

Smith & Wesson-is running at Full capacity making 300+ guns/day-mainly M&P pistols.

They are unable to produce any more guns to help with the shortages.
RUGER: Plans to increase from 75% to 100% in the next 90 days.

FNH: Moving from 50% production to 75% by Feb 1st and 100% by March 1.
Remington-Maxed out!
Armalite: Maxed out.
DPMS: Can't get enough parts to produce any more product.
COLT: Production runs increasing weekly...bottle necked by Bolt carrier's.
LWRC:Making only black guns, running at full capacity...can't get enough gun quality steel
to make barrels.
Springfield Armory: Only company who can meet demand but are running 30-45 days behind.
AMMO: Every caliber is now Allocated! We are looking at a nation wide shortage of all
calibers over the next 9 months. All plants are producing as much ammo as possible w/ of
1 BILLION rounds produced weekly. Most is military followed by L.E. and civilians are
third in line.
MAGPUL is behind 1 MILLION mags, do not expect any large quantities of magpul anytime soon.
RELOADERS... ALL Remington, Winchester, CCI & Federal primers are going to ammo
FIRST. There are no extra's for reloading purposes... it could be 6-9 months before things
get caught up.
Sorry for the bleak news, but now we know what to expect in the coming months. Stay tuned,
we'll keep you posted...
Related commentary from Bob Owens:
They didn‚€™t know when they‚€™d be getting anything back in stock, from magazines to rifles to
pistols. Manufacturers were running full-bore, but couldn‚€™t come close to keeping up with
market demand. It wasn‚€™t just the AR-15s, the AK-pattern rifles, the M1As, and the FALs
that were sold out. It really hit me when I realized that the World War-era M1 Garands,
M1 carbines, and Enfield .303s were gone, along with every last shell. Ubiquitous Mosin-
Nagants—of which every gun store always seems to have 10-220—were gone.
So was their ammo. Only a dust free space marked their passing. I‚€™ve never seen anything like it.
Every weapon of military utility designed within the past 100+ years was gone.
This isn‚€™t a society stocking up on certain guns because they fear they may be banned.
This is a society preparing for war.

I ordered 8lb. of W231 around January 1st. About a week later they told me the order was canceled because the supplier was out of stock.

It was listed as in stock when I made the order

Midway doesn't stock powder or primers. When you order powder from Midway they get ahold of Powder Valley or another company and have it drop shipped from them. That's why Midway doesn't ship primers and powder together, they order them from different places. I have a friend that bought powder from Midway once and all of the powder bottles had Powder Valley stickers on them.

I ordered 25 lbs from Midway in December. It took just over a month to receive from Fedex ground. The different powders all came from the same depot somewhere out west. Midway stated it would take about 30 working days if it was in stock. That's what it took for my order.

If you check Powder VAlley's website you will see they are no longer taking backorders. They will honor the backorders they have but any future orders for out of stock items will be canceled.
