General Info on .45 ACP 200 Grain XTP Load

I thought I would pass along the following load data in case anyone is interested. I loaded 6.5 grains of Win 231 behind a 200 grain Hornady XTP and shot this load from a Sig P220. This is a very accurate load with mild recoil. I also shot this same load with Berrys 200 grain plated HP with the same results. The velocity for this load averages 970 fps. I used a Hornady #3 reloading manual for the data which listed the Max load at 6.7 grains of 231. Brass used was Federal and Speer, Primer used was Winchester Large Pistol.

I've been toying with the notion of loading my own SD loads for home. Thanks for the info. I can buy XTP bullets local. I think I'll try them.
