Just mention that you are supporting breast cancer awareness and you will receive adoration at the range - http://ww5.komen.org/

My mother-in-law had breast cancer and I actively support the pink ribbon (have pink ribbons on some of my gear like the range bag/hat - goes well with tactical/ballistic black nylon :D).

I sure as hell would, a 30 round mag is a 30 round mag. as long as it functions properly, i dont really care that its pink... if it really bothered me, i'd paint it.

Heck yeah!...will go great with the pink AR I'm going to build for my daughter. :)

Not even considering the color I wouldn't pay $30 for a AR magazine.

I agree with this completely!

As for the color, I would buy them. My wife has a purple AR and is building a pink one. She also has a pink and black S&W AR15-22, and....a pink Charter Arms 38, and.....purple grips on a 1911, and.....

I've thought on many occasions of building a yellow AR and would like to get matching yellow mags if I did. I currently have a lime green AR and have been thinking of painting at least one mag to match.

Price is the biggest issue there. $30 for those mags is not a good deal.

Mags should return to a better price range. I hope.

If $30 is not your concern then here you go for some black/gray 30rd mags.

Is that the new P-Mag?

doesn't matter if its black or white. or pink.

Just like the last AWB, I really don't think prices will ever go back to ''normal''. Oh there won't be any $120.00 surplus 30 round magazines on Cheaper than Dirt, and you'll be able to hit Gunboards and pick up a deal every now or then from some old guy [OK, I'm an old guy] cashing out on his collection, but I think $30.00 is going to end up being about average.

spray paint is cheap..

Why not?

I would buy them if my wife had an AR.

The whole "pink" movement has had some positive impact, sure. There are many sources who believe breast cancer is indelibly linked to abortion, so if you are pro-life, you might want to check out some of that information before getting too wound up and inadvertently associate yourself with the wrong gang.

A social campaign like this is a perfect way for one side of the aisle to make a popular point while obfuscating a very negative correlation. Hope this post does not violate any forum rules, but to me taking the High Road means getting all the facts.

Not for $30.

Just like the last AWB, I really don't think prices will ever go back to ''normal''.

3 months ago you could get a new AR15 for under $700 and mags under $13, that's pretty normal to me.

I might buy them if part of the profit was going to save the ta-ta's - but that does not seem to be the case from what I can tell. They are just regular mags that happen to be spray painted pink.

I could probably buy cheaper, and spray them myself if that was the color I wanted.

In NY prebans were avg. $30ish (now they are illegal) Now everyone feels what it is like a little bit living in a free state like NY. Over priced mags, possibility on restrictions always looming, ridiculous claims by local and state politicians etc, etc. If you think it cant come your way, think again.

Just to ad if I legal I would pay 30 for new mags. But i've been conditioned that mags are expensive and hard to come by.

Well, I have a Yugo M70AB2 Kalashnikov style rifle, a M1 carbine, a M91/30 Mosin Nagant rifle, CZ52 pistol, C96 Mauser pistol, Webley MkIV revolver, etc. and when I go looking for accessories (like at the gunshow at the Civic Auditorium today), I tend to look for authentic, as-issued magazines, clips, pouches, slings, and gear, more as a curio or collectible historic item.

If I were to get an AR, my first choice would be an AR-15 matching my original 1966 qualification rifle: no forward assist, triangle hand guard, etc., and matching 1960s era kit--sling, magazines, pouches, etc.

However, if I were to build a modern sporting AR rifle, I would want one along the lines of an M4 flat top, but with bull barrel. And if I were to have it duracoated chartreuse green, those mags advertised would be the purr-fecto cat's meow match up.

Powder coated pink PMAGs? Sign me up for 10. These....not so much.

February 2, 2013, 10:02 AM
No, not even if they were black.

I agree, not for $30 a piece.

February 2, 2013, 10:22 AM
Not a chance.

While my consumer self might say it's capitalizing on the situation and weird at worst...

My manufacturer side asks: What flaw/defect is being hidden by that horrendously applied finish?

I'm pretty sure every human being in the US is aware of breast cancer at this point.
Curious though, how many people on THR are aware that prostate cancer actually affects more people every year than breast cancer, and yet research into the cure only gets about half the funding....

I would bet most here were totally unaware of that. Just like the rest of the country. If it were me, and I were using the color for some awareness campaign, I would paint those mags light blue.
