Loaded some Ranier 165 plated. I usually dont use them but right now i take what I can get. ANyway, 4.7 grains W231 @ 1.120. They wont cyle in the FNX, jams failure to eject every 3 rounds or so, though they shot fine from my XD.
I am thinking they are just to light to reliably cycle.
Any input?

Guns are made differently. My FNX likes it hot. Check out how far the slide goes back before the barrel unlocks. Go up on your charge. The gun can handle it.

I use 5 grains of W231 and 180 grain Berry's plated in my FNP. Over 2000 rounds without a failure to cycle. I would say you may need to up your chage a bit.

Hodgdon recently added 40S&W plated load data to their online database. At 4.7 gr, you are using start charge and I suggest you increase your powder charge (Try 5.0 gr and you should see more reliable slide cycling, especially for pistols with stiffer recoil springs) - http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp
