I hope Ted will smack it good in the face of P Morgan. You dont mess with Texans and all gun owning Americans by limiting their rights to guns. That should be the clear message ! I dont care how he says it, the 2 A is not to be infringed and played around with .

Too bad the Nuge is so flippant, because it doesn't help him to get his points across. So far he is doing an excellent job, going toe-to-toe with PM and telling him all the things I've been yelling at the television when I watch CNN.

Going into the second round, I score it 5-0 in favor of the Nuge.

I think the owner was weak too. He should have expressed his views and told PM he was simply wrong about things. Also, should have put his target further than 15yards away and given him a rifle that wasn't sighted in correctly.

Ted was dead-nuts correct when he said to PM " you will NEVER understand out culture"....

Ted was dead-nuts correct when ask PM 'why you don't go after criminals in this country'...PM did not respond

Every time PM remarks were getting eviscerated he changed the topic....I can't be the only one to notice this....that would be way tooooo mmmuch credit....

The way ONLY way PM answered a question was his mis-direction by asking a totally unrelated question to the question he was asked...

Oh, God. Greg Abbot's wrapped up in this, now? I instantly have less respect for the man being part of this. Why do people keep justifying Piers with an answer? There is no "debate" from either side on that stupid show; it's just a "bull ride" and we're cheering when intellectuals like The Nuge (for Pete's sake) can stay on top for 8 seconds. What do these stupid diatribe-shows accomplish but make us look like bitter and opinionated hotheads?

Is The Nuge at least calling for all viewers to contact their reps (and demanding Piers post a link on screen)? Or is he just selling something or himself? Has Piers pointed out his less-than-savory history regarding the hunting laws of manylands? (That'd be where I'd start)

Representing millions of gun owners on a nationally televised program is no place for amateurs. They should of either been prepared or not taken part.

The owner of that store aggravated me in particular. He knew what Morgan was going to do and in my opinion did it for the publicity.

Whiskey11
February 5, 2013, 12:40 AM
Sadly it hasn't gotten much better on the "baiting" issue...

I did hear Piers say:
"Wayne LaPierre has made a 360 on guns in schools and a 360 on universal background checks."

Uhm... I think he got that a bit wrong! :P

The Radio host and the Texas senator (Sorry I don't remember) spent most of their time with PM talking over each other... I'm glad we are being portrayed as so civilized that we can have a conversation like adults...

:banghead:

It's sad that PM went into this whole thing with preconceived notions about guns and failed to see the entertainment purposes and legal uses for firearms, including the AR15. We aren't doing ourselves a lot of favors.

I'm sure there has been some clever editing somewhere in there too...

pty101
February 5, 2013, 12:57 AM
The lgs owner did a decent job, yeah we can pick at things as people who are more knowledgeable on these subjects, but to common man he did a good job demonstrating the differences between SA and FA as well as the prohibitive costs of mass ownership of MGs .

The AG also did pretty well. There were some times where PM got an upper hand, but he did have some good counters. I'm sure he wasn’t used to a person actively berating him with ever changing questions. That makes it hard to form coherent arguments when the topic is constantly changing.
The concealed carry advocates did well, when he talked about his personal experiences with a criminal and the gun used wasn’t an AR 15 and how he needed more than 10 bullets. It was personal to him and he portrayed that to the viewers

Nugent had PM tied up in his logic right off the start. He countered his facts and the line about suicides in Japan and whether PM cares about murders or just murders with guns was great. The second segments he also did a great job. He countered PM’s arguments calmly and with facts. I think he did a great job, presented our side well

And Jeremy Clarkson (from Top Gear), who HATES Piers Morgan and once punched him, begs us not to send Morgan back:D

So I instead I suggest we dump Piers Morgan in a third world hellhole in Africa that has plenty of warlords, cannibals, animals that will eat you, AIDS and Ebola and let's see long he'll survive  No gun of course, civilians don't need them and neither does he.

I just watched the DVR and Ted Nugent was outstanding. He brought energy, enthusiasm, and his no BS attitude, but didn't end up acting like a d***. Besides him schooling PM, it was enjoyable to watch him. I think he would be a good public speaker for the NRA, in lieu of Wayne LaPierre if he could keep the up the performance tonight.

BTW, PM more than likely took on the gun debate simply for ratings. I don't believe he actually cares one way or another. Morgan and O'Reilly are exactly the same towards their guests, neither have any class. I have more respect for Geraldo, at least he's consistant and respectful.

What I find most disturbing is that PM---masquerading as an investigative reporter---is neither investigating nor reporting, he is simply advancing an agenda. He has convinced himself that he is the heart, soul, and morality of the American people. "News" as I once knew it, is no longer news---be it CNN or Fox---but a political platform aimed at brainwashing a nation. Does anybody else see it that way or am I just growing old and cranky?

After the dust has settled, it leaves me wondering if any minds were changed ... on either side of the issue?

I wasn't impressed with the shop owner. I'll be honest Ted has done really well lately though. Keeping it mellow and knowing his facts. Someone needs to tell morgan on television that AR 15's are used in self defense situation. Some one in Rochester NY used one a week or two ago. walking 2 armed home invaders back down his steps, and did not fire a shot.

I watched Piers also. Like most of us I disagree with every position he takes on gun control. However, at least he has the courage to invite people on his show who take an opposing opinion and will debate him, albeit he does tend to talk over them when his is losing a point. Just after this show I went to MSNBC (Morons Spewing Nothing But Crap) and watched the "Special Ed" show. Special Ed went on as usual, praising Obama's gun control efforts and bashing gun owners and the evil NRA. Being an intellectual coward, and following the MSNBC blueprint, he ONLY had people who agree with him on as guests. What a joke. Debate? Heck yeah, one sided arguments posing as rational thought? Not so much. I just wonder if this could be one of the reasons that this lunatic NBC stepchild has such low ratings?

That's exactly what he does! He's on a crusade.

I'm a bit biased but Mr. Morgan got owned - even with his interrupting style and his ability to conjure graphs (which his guests don't have the advantage) . Ted did fine.

Here's a sad fact: Even with the "American gun culture" some large percentage of people in the USA have no idea what the definition of "semi-automatic" is. But what 52% want them banned? I don't believe that. Even some Obama voters own a Glock.
