Hi skor 700x in an .30 Carbine?

I've read a couple forum threads where people have loaded .30 Carbine with Hi skor 700x. Anyone here had success with this? I have a lot of 700x and I don't want to purchase another brand of powder. Would be running through an Inland M1 Carbine or a Universal.

I do not use it in 30 Carbine but I do use a buttload of it in 45ACP 230 grain loads with both lead and jacketed bullets. It burns clean and is economical also.:D I would think it was on the fast side to be using in the 30 Carbine.

There's almost no chance of it working. 800X might work, but the powders to use for .30 Carbine are *much* slower than 700X: 2400, W296, AA#9, H110, AA4100, and 4227.

The fastest-burning powder that I've seen reloading data for is Unique. And I bet that won't cycle the action.

Not to muddy the waters, but 700-X could probably be used in loads to be used in a Ruger Blackhawk. It would make a dandy low power load in the revolver.

I agree with everyone else, 700-X is probably not a good idea for cartridges to be used in an M1 Carbine. W296/H110, IMR4227, and Alliant 2400 are good 30 Carbine powders.
