skeeziks February 4, 2013, 10:06 PM When is it on? berettaprofessor February 4, 2013, 10:12 PM Right now. skeeziks February 4, 2013, 10:14 PM Thanks, Professor. ~ :) pty101 February 4, 2013, 11:09 PM This is a good show. Its about the items, their history and what they will sell for. There's little added drama that most reality type shows have. Dr.Rob February 5, 2013, 12:07 AM Yep, two of the same guys as on Pawn Stars. larry harley February 5, 2013, 04:49 PM hey thanks for watching we try hard new episodes this wed night in the mean time i hope u enjoy this song someone wrote about me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnnZOOJKfAo all the amo was free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) Grassman February 5, 2013, 05:09 PM hey thanks for watching we try hard new episodes this wed night in the mean time i hope u enjoy this song someone wrote about me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnnZOOJKfAo all the amo was free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) Some nice damascus steel in there. Fiv3r February 5, 2013, 05:41 PM I just discovered this show last night as I waited for some dental work pain meds to scoot me off to La-La Land. I was really intrigued. Folks bring in some cool old weapons, experts evaluate/appraise said weapon, weapon is either rejected or accepted into auction. If the the weapon doesn't reach the appraised amount then the appraiser doesn't get 15% of the cut. Really simple and really interesting. Nice history and information and it's fun to watch them shoot some of these old warhorses:evil: hso February 5, 2013, 06:04 PM I've seen all 4 episodes and they were fun. larry harley February 5, 2013, 11:24 PM i got to hold and shoot stuff i only dreamed about!!! and the amo was free!! lol Just One Shot February 6, 2013, 01:12 PM Network and time please. Thanks! hso February 6, 2013, 08:39 PM I'm currently watching the Outdoor channel and Shooting USA waiting for Lords of War to come on at 2100 on Nat Geo.:D rcmodel February 6, 2013, 08:44 PM There's little added drama that most reality type shows have.Except for the: "We must test fire it. If it doesn't fire, it's worth only half as much, and we won't even sell it" BS. Seriously!! They did it with a nice old 94 Winchester the other night. At worst, if a nice old 94 Winchester won't fire? They & the TV crew dry-fired it for the TV show filming too many times and broke the dang firing pin!! That really doesn't de-value it by half or more. rc MAKster February 6, 2013, 10:17 PM It's just another totally fake reality show with staged sellers. The one guy going on and on about how the Kel-Tec bullpup was the best designed rifle on the market was annoying. PGT February 6, 2013, 10:23 PM there was that one odd dude with the MAC-10.....same guy who sold some rockets or something on American Guns, that show with the family in CO that owned the gun store. dirtykid February 7, 2013, 10:24 AM MAKster beat me to it, I was starting to find it intresting until he rambled on about the K-T rifle, being the best designed weapon EVER ..... LOL Some of the other stuff they come up with is cool though, I was listening to it from the other room, and thought I heard that WWII spotlight go for $20K ??? THAT was a little hard to believe,, but maybe if it stills works,, IDK maybe thats what they are worth ?? larry harley February 7, 2013, 11:41 AM Quote: There's little added drama that most reality type shows have. That's a pretty extreme statement considering they demonstrated it fired and sold it as a working firearm on the show (did you watch the show?). Larry, What was the condition of the '94 at the time of the auction? larry harley February 7, 2013, 11:12 PM jdex. we will be moving the the auction around. same tent different bails of straw. different town . i,ll try to get a scheduled for next season u can bid on line too we saw way more stuff than we could sell on tv the condition of the Winchester was pristine at the time of the auction. i hunt sometimes w a 35 Remington auto 1905 on a browning patton. ida took this 30 30 to the woods had it been mine but then again i,m a philistine! jdex February 7, 2013, 11:53 PM That's awhat I meant, ats the website to bid online? Lex Luthier February 8, 2013, 07:27 AM He was the most interesting specialist on Pawn Stars and I'm glad he was able to parlay that into this show. No offense, but the old hairy farmer dude is a stereotype I could live without. TV show producers always have to screw up an excellent idea with sill stereotypical characters. larry harley February 8, 2013, 09:55 AM i,m probably that " ol hairy farmer dude" ha ha ha sorry but i,m not stereotypical i am what i am hillbilly born and raised citizen of the lost state of franklin east tn., s.w. va., western n.c., north ga, s.w. va. just because a fellow has no neck and talks funny ( to u) does not mean hes stupid where i live we r all ol,hairy farmer dudes!!! i,ll bet u live in a large metropolitan area of the nation and or have never really been exposed to real hillbillies. I was a little surprised to see so few warm bodys on the show. I have been to a few weapon only auctions and they always had people in the 100's standing around. Also i thought it was pretty cool episode with the mak 10. I dont know the gentalmens name who was selling it but i have seen him on a few different shows and he has lots of military stuff....some of it real big. larry harley February 9, 2013, 05:27 PM not nearly enough some times that left us suckn hind tit too :( u dont see everything that happened!! but with the show airing i,m sure next yr will feed on this yr. i,m not sure about that guy being on another show .... people want to be on tv and there are not that many really BIG arms collectors out there. i didnt get to see nearly enough high end swords and knives w..w.1 and w.w. 2 bayonets!!! gosh save me from them rusty bayonets.i think every citizen in this country has at least 3 and they r all rusted and not worth nearly what folks think. we r really a history show even though we trip a little bit from time to time its tough setn under a tent all day while folks bring u stufffff and u tell them history behind it all if u r looking for perfect. i ant it:0 i tell folks i screwed up yesterday, already today ,and tomorrow ant lookn tooo promising but i try HARD!!! How long a clip do they see before the bidding? Grassman February 13, 2013, 09:51 PM I'm skeptical of the bidding audience. Looks staged to me. Crowd looks pretty slim too, place looks the same every episode also. But I'm skeptical by nature. plodder February 13, 2013, 09:56 PM Larry: Great show but please do what you can to prevent the producers from allowing it to degenerate into contrived, outlandish dramas and farcical projects like shows of similar genre. Maybe they follow the show. dab102999 February 14, 2013, 05:38 AM i have noticed the same few people in the audience on a few episodes. Maybe they follow the show. This is correct but a show like this is still new..give it time. My dad and I have been collecting antique tractors since before anyone else wanted them. We used to follow the auctions all over the country and would always see the same people there. Used to be (25+ years ago) 20-100 people and 10-30 bidders...now at the bigger ones its 100's of people and some approaching 1000 with 50-100 main bidders. The last 5 years or so our auction adventures are limited because of my dads age, and we sell instead of buy because people pay way more then we ever did or will....(sort of like guns right now). dab102999 February 14, 2013, 05:40 AM Larry: Great show but please do what you can to prevent the producers from allowing it to degenerate into contrived, outlandish dramas and farcical projects like shows of similar genre. Good show, BTW. larry harley February 22, 2013, 12:05 PM i never knew there were so many fakes out there, and for the price and effort who evers selling them ant really makeing that much money'example the viking ax head if i made that and started w iron and turned it into steel like they had done id ask at least twice what that one brought at auction. several blades form cheeeeep sword supply house tried to be passed off .the worst were real antique guns that had been reworked most restoraton destroys antique collector value. desidog February 22, 2013, 01:09 PM I watched that M-10 segment, and then changed the channel. USAF_Vet February 28, 2013, 01:17 PM Looked to me he was bump firing from the hip. I could do the same thing at a near full auto rate of fire with an SKS. If you watch the slow motion, you can clearly see his trigger finger actuating each shot. That was not being shot full auto. On an unrelated note: Larry, the Falchion that was brought in, even though it was a modern repro, was it worth the $250 the guy paid for it? larry harley March 3, 2013, 12:13 PM That was not being shot full auto. right there On an unrelated note: Larry, the Falchion that was brought in, even though it was a modern repro, was it worth the $250 the guy paid for it? not even close but it woulda been a fun cutter!!:) larry harley March 3, 2013, 12:31 PM Get comfortable. Always end the appraisal with "but we need to shoot it". They might want to look at the parts / internals to make sure its ready to go hot. Cheezy!! How about everytime they pull the trigger, you see a brief blast and then go to commercial. Come on producers, thats a sure signal for me to go for a snack. Thankfully I DVR the show and can skip all of this meaningless drama. Also why do the owners freak when the bid meets the guaranteed amount? If its $1 under the estimate they make more [no auction fee] unless the final amount goes more than 15% over the guarantee. Come on, how many people show up to spend $35k for a search light? Even with phone/online bidders that's a stretch. Like I said, the show is OK but after just a few episodes, I'm losing interest. larry harley March 4, 2013, 09:28 AM Show OK, but predictable. Always end the appraisal with "but we need to shoot it". They might want to look at the parts / internals to make sure its ready to go hot. Cheezy!! Come on producers, thats a sure signal for me to go for a snack. (its t.v. there has to be some kinda drama built in. dont go to the fridge every commercial u will get fat. the explosions and watching the action at the rage has become lots of folks favorite part) Thankfully I DVR the show and can skip all of this meaningless drama. Also why do the owners freak when the bid meets the guaranteed amount? If its $1 under the estimate they make more [no auction fee] unless the final amount goes more than 15% over the guarantee. (your are watching human nature) Come on, how many people show up to spend $35k for a search light? Even with phone/online bidders that's a stretch. Like I said, the show is OK but after just a few episodes, I'm losing interest. not many, but we after a couple sessions in cal we had several folks that followed us off and on through the whole season trying to buy stuffffff. they would fly in on there own plane!! now as far as the criticism goes how about some constructive criticism!! dont just ell me the chilli is not good. tell me the chilli is not good and it needs more salt and chilli powder. i hope u enjoy the remainder of the epasodes. there will be 2 more new ones this wed night at 10, and 2 more the following wed at 10. hope u enjoy. the old hairy farmer dude hammer bassdogs March 4, 2013, 01:11 PM Thought I did "Dude". No one questioning who is or isn't a master gunsmith, just that the process of making the show is [what was that word], predictable. As for the DVR break, how about watching something else and coming back to this one later when I can skip all the commercials and "Cheesy" stuff. As for the constructive feedback, change things up every once in a while. That's what producers do. And its not human nature for someone to have a valuable item up for auction and not have calculated where they would like to see it end up. The estimate is for the auction team, not the seller. If it were my item, I'd want it to end up a $1 short on that $5000 estimate. I make an extra $749. People who go to auctions that sell hi end stuff, are not your Sat nite browsers. Sorry dude, the show has lost it luster after only a few very redundant episodes. nosmr2 March 4, 2013, 01:31 PM I watched a handful of episodes yesterday, DVR'd the rest and thought it was a good show. It beats the hell out of Sons of Guns and that guy in Colorado that flies around in a helicopter. I'll watch again. PGT March 4, 2013, 01:39 PM I agree with Larry Harley....the show appears to be quite contrived. The "bidders" look/act more like actors or random people of the street paid to be there. And, the young dude standing in the background moving his arms up and down trying to get the crowd to bid higher? Come on.... bassdogs March 4, 2013, 07:07 PM I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something with this show. I checked several blogs that covered the show, and the general opinion is pretty close to what I stated. Many call it contrived and staged. Don't know how they shoot it and where they find the sellers, but I can sleep tonight knowing I'm not the only one who isn't flipping out over this show. MAKster March 4, 2013, 07:42 PM I suspect the "auction" is fake. There only appears to be about 10 people in the crowd. jdex March 4, 2013, 10:38 PM Constructive criticism, ok here goes. I like you interaction with people, however I agree with the guy who said the young guy needs to lay off the caffeine. It was entertaining the first few interactions, then it got to where I was embarresed for him. The people bring things are either horrible actors, or you all need to tell them to be more comfortable in front of the camera, have them lose the costumes. Explain more of where you all shoot the guns, they all look like it is the same range, yet you are in a diffrent city? Interview the winning bidders, would love to hear some of thier stories on why they purchased certain items. If they really are flying thier own planes there show that, I have noticed a lot of the same people in the crowd, hell I'm in a city of a million and if something like that came here there would be more than 59 bidders there. Like someone else said, loose the range scene, we have all seen tannernite explode and are not impressed. Arkansas Paul March 4, 2013, 11:32 PM Yeah, I'm not one for the explosions either, but I'm aware that some people are into that. And I agree with a previous poster, it beats the hell out of Sons of Guns. And I think Sean is a pretty cool dude. I didn't like it when Pawn Stars started using other people, though I suspect it had to do with Sean's schedule. He seems much more knowledgeable than the other yahoos they bring in. JFtheGR8 March 5, 2013, 02:31 AM I liked the Scottish Claymore episode. Reminded me of one of the reasons why we have a second amendment in the first place. Posted from Thehighroad.org App for Android Ham Hock March 5, 2013, 08:10 AM I like the way Hammer get emotional (to the point of tears) when talking about vets. InkEd March 5, 2013, 08:17 PM It's a TV show and a pretty good one for the format. I think the more obscure the weapon the more interesting. However, you need to have some mainstream appeal. All those complaining about the auction might be better entertained staring at gunbroker all day. bassdogs March 6, 2013, 11:19 AM Kind of beating a dead horse here. You either like it or not. I'm in the DVR first crowd so I can get to the real content which is about 30% of the show. It's just too darn contrived for me. Done here. slowr1der March 6, 2013, 12:46 PM I'm having a similar feeling. The first couple of episodes I really liked this show, but it started getting old very quickly. It feels like I'm watching the same episode every time to me. I'd like to see more interviews with the buyers of the weapons as mentioned above. I think that would help some. I honestly like both Sons of Guns and American Guns a lot better. I definitely don't think they know nearly as much about guns as these guys and I don't feel like I learn anything from their shows, but they are a lot more entertaining to me and keep me interested. larry harley March 6, 2013, 03:12 PM i,m for real!! larry harley March 6, 2013, 03:13 PM http://lonesomepineknives.com/?attachment_id=196 Arkansas Paul March 6, 2013, 03:51 PM My wife has actually started watching the show with me. And "Old Farmer Dude", you're her favorite guy on there. :) Ranger Roberts March 6, 2013, 04:44 PM I like the show. The guys (Larry and his partners) are knowledgeable and fun to watch. I've bought a lot of guns in auction over the years, and I'd like to go to one of theirs! In an earlier post someone suggested interviewing the buyers (those that are willing), I think that would be interesting. Keep up the good work Larry! larry harley March 7, 2013, 02:19 PM Just because a fellow is a hairy ol farmer dude , has no neck and talks funny dont mean we r stupid:) thanks for watchn larry harley March 7, 2013, 02:20 PM "The guys (Larry and his partners) are knowledgeable and fun to watch" Collectively we are a walking encyclopedia!!. not much can get past us!! and the powder and amo was free!!:) hso March 7, 2013, 03:44 PM Nice to see Wally on there last night. I'm not surprised he let you cut with his katana, but I cringed watching it. What was his edge like after? larry harley March 7, 2013, 04:38 PM no blimishes and still shaving sharp but my butt was puckered!!!!! Yankee John March 7, 2013, 05:24 PM I really like the show Larry. I always thought that Sean should have his own show, Whenever the Pawnstars guys would call for his expertise. I don't usually like the range scenes, But I have to admit the episode where the MG42 was fired was fantastic!! That sucker really snorted. I don't care at all for the auction stuff. I'm ok with you and your partners valuations of the stuff that comes up. The auction prices generally reflect your approximate values in the end, for the most part. I would simply like to see MORE of the stuff that comes through your tents. Loose the auction scenes and fit a few more of those interesting items that you see, As I am positive you see many many cool things that don't make the cut for airtime on the show. Make it more of the 'Antiques Roadshow' for us gun and military guys. Overall the show is very enjoyable, and you do a great job of showing the world that us militaria and firearm collectors aren't all that strange or uncommon. Thanks again Larry! larry harley March 7, 2013, 06:05 PM I really like the show Larry. I always thought that Sean should have his own show, Whenever the Pawnstars guys would call for his expertise. ( if u think i ant strange and uncommon then u r my kinda feller!! ive been accused of that my whole life!!!!) Thanks again Larry! (NO! thank u) __________________ John USAF_Vet March 7, 2013, 06:58 PM I was glad to see something other than a Tannerite explosion when Sean was chicken out that Blunderbuss. The several dozen eggs splattering all over the range was a nice change of pace. I, too have gotten a bit bored with the auction scenes. I'd rather see what it is estimated at, what it sold for, and a few comments from the buyer rather than the auction itself. There are other shows that revolve around auctions, I'd rather see Lords of War focus more on the items, their history, and the buyer of said item. I also like NRA's Guns and Gold over on the Sportsmans channel, but my wife will sit and watch Lords of War. Guns and Gold is a little too boring for her. larry harley March 8, 2013, 11:35 AM I was glad to see something other than a Tannerite explosion when Sean was chicken out that Blunderbuss. CZguy March 8, 2013, 12:25 PM The several dozen eggs splattering all over the range was a nice change of pace Hard boiled eggs explode. larry harley March 8, 2013, 12:54 PM Hard boiled eggs explode. Season 2 then!!!!! cja245 March 8, 2013, 01:16 PM I was expecting it to be a better honestly. I find the rigged / highly edited auctions and the "But will it fire?" sections to be rather annoying. These seem to be the main focus of the show and not the firearms. USAF_Vet March 8, 2013, 02:37 PM I don't know if the auctions are rigged. You see a lot if the same people bidding show after show, place after place, but that really isn't that uncommon in the auction world. But it isn't very suspenseful, like the commercial break just before the gun fires. Larry says the whole show is a history lesson, but I have to disagree. It's a history lesson at the tables where the item gets evaluated, which is only about 1/3 of the show. The rest is rage time and the auction. Larry, I'm an old Kentucky boy who got to blow up plenty of stuff in the USAF. A puff of Tannerite smoke is a little lackluster to me these days. The model ship, the eggs, those were new and different. New and different is always good. Every show that shoots stuff shoots at Tannerite. CZguy March 8, 2013, 11:34 PM New and different is always good. Every show that shoots stuff shoots at Tannerite. He does have a good point here. Personally I've had and awful lot of fun over the years shooting old cars, and appliances at my farms old dump. skoro March 9, 2013, 06:42 AM Collectively we are a walking encyclopedia!!. not much can get past us!! and the powder and amo was free!! Larry - Just caught your show for the first time last week. Really enjoyed it and looking forward to more episodes. You guys do a great job of revealing history and details. Wishing you all the best of success. larry harley March 13, 2013, 03:05 PM https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=138496639661016&set=a.115752531935427.20627.115742961936384&type=1&theater ck out the show tonight 6:0 for last weeks show and 10:00 for the new one larry harley March 15, 2013, 11:10 AM HELP FRIENDS!! ALL YOUR FRIENDS jdex March 16, 2013, 12:35 AM Nothing personal, but can you all change the format a bit if we email? I liked it,but it got real old real quick, I haven't even watched the last few episodes. jdex March 17, 2013, 01:08 AM Ok, so I finally watched the last episodes tonight, really just had them on in the background while cleaning some guns. I decided its not a bad show, it just is what it is, a decent show that could be better but is to overproduced. hso March 17, 2013, 09:00 AM I was happy to send an email, but I did suggest less Tannerite and more novel reactive targets.
