black .40 S&W cases - are these high zoot tacticool cases?

the boys found a hand ful of .40 S&W cases that have been treated with some kind of brass black. They're Hornaday head stamped.
Are these from some super secret, CIA, zombie killer loads? :D
Oh and they pulled a 500 S&W case out too - holy cats that thing looks like it belongs in an artillery piece .. :what:

They are actually nickel cases with black finish. If you reload them enough times, the black finish will start to wear.

Fairly standard.

I had heard that TAP rounds had black cases, but the ones I've gotten have all been nickel.

I ran across those also. Just throw them in with your regular brass. They reload just fine.
