Easy pick for me: Anything and everything involving CNN's version of Jerry Springer, one Piers Morgan. Nothing he has to say matters to me, nor should it to the protection of RKBA.
He has an audience, but it is already mostly anti-2A, so he's not convincing anyone of anything. He says the same thing to every "guest" and never has a shred of evidence to back up any of it. I will not go to those PM video links anymore, as all they do is infuriate me.
No, I'm not really suggesting we ban anything, but I'm really sick of these "PM got it handed to him" posts.

Basically, any uninformed or ignorant post. In particular, something they could have used a search engine to discover in about 2 seconds, and read on 1,269,042 websites. And, after less than an hour, reposting "NOBODY??" Which means, "I can't be bothered with research and learning, give me the important information NOW!"
It gets reeaaalll quiet after that.

"Sheeple?" We are hopefully seeing our ranks increase as the NRA are. As a result of this we will be getting a lot of "Whats the best...." questions and I hope that the responses of "Thats been asked before...", "Use Google....", are kept to a minimum.
We want people on our side, we need to treat them like they ARE on our side when they start asking questions.

By far, the "If you could only have _____ guns" threads.
And personally, even though I know it's outside THRs purpose and thus not likely, I think we should have MORE discussions about socialism and why/how this nation is going down the drain. The first step towards fixing the problem is knowledge. And it's sad so few people are aware of how collectivist the US has become.

Personally I hate the "I have this gun in caliber xxx, but I really really really want to get another gun in the same caliber. But do I need it?"
The answer is almost always no. You want it. So just save your money, buy the damn thing, shoot it, and if you then decide you don't need two guns that shoot the same cartridge, trade the one that you shoot less toward a different gun! There will always be another gun you want! Just admit it ,and accept that part of being a firearm enthusiast is collecting different guns chambered for different cartridges.
If you are one of those people that owns one gun so you can go hunting, then make sure you buy the right gun. If that's you, you probably aren't a member of this forum.
If you ask do I need this gun on this forum, the answer will almost always be "No, but if you really want it, buy one anyway. You can always get rid of it."
Lame threads. Don't use us as a passive way of justifying your gun wants. Now if you have a question about does one gun have an advantage over a different one of the same caliber, ok. Ask away. That is a legit question.

Although I make these every so often, I find that list threads tend to be a bunch of lists with very few descriptions and even less discussion of previous items. Most of the contraversial threads that get closed because people start throwing verbal excrement at each other are closed because people are actually responding to the other's posts. But a list of "what are your top 5 wish list guns for this year" will have maybe one reply per page that isn't just a list of 5 guns and increased post count for all within.

Just redundant posts. With the recent, er, mud storm we've had of late with the hydra head of anti-2A activity, there are often multiple threads on the same topic. This makes the general discussion board time consuming to check in on; the poor mods can't catch them all-not without a fat raise, at least.
Search twice, post once.
Unless it's "which Glock to carry in Bear country", of course...

Simple: The most useless phrase is "use the search function".
*First, the search function sucks. If you wish to know if the XD9 has had a history of FTFs, you search XD9 FTF. You get any thread with an XD9 in it and you get every thread containing FTF. Literally thousands of threads to go thru.
*Second, we have a ton of new people. They want to interact with the experienced pros. This is not a read only forum. They wish to feel a part of the discussion and actually contribute to it.
*Third, products are fixed by the mfg (recalls) and the issue of a year ago may not be relevent today. This is quite common on new pistols.
*Fourth, ammo is constantly upgraded, reconfigured, etc. There is new ammo out and what was "the best for...?" 2 years ago may not be true today.
*Last, when someone tells someone to just use the search function because it's been discussed before it means he is bored with the topic so he felt the need to be rude and inconsiderate. Hey, if it bores you, move on. Don't feel you have to mark your territory like an animal. Treating newbies with disdain does not help the forum grow as a community and keeps fresh ideas and people new to the gun world away.

ban the "if you could ban one topic from THR" topic.
Ask what you want, and read what you want. I see these posts about what not to discuss making people leery about posting. The long time members that have seen the same topic over and over are not obligated to reply. But the new guys (me being one) may not have seen them and would miss out on the topic. Otherwise we'd be looking up years worth of threads that no one will ever reply to again. And the mind numbing "If you only get ..... gun" and "what should my wife shoot", they might not be mind numbing to some. Post freely and read/reply freely. Like others have said, there is enough banning going on. Just my two cents.

Anything containing the word 'socialist' as an epithet, particularly when it is clear that the poster has absolutely no idea what socialism is.
Thats a pretty close one.
Honestly though, and I'm sure I'll catch a ration of "s" for this one...... I would ban :
"The 2nd amendment protects all of the rest"
Not because its not true- But because you cant say that out of one corner of your mouth, and selectively enforce the 1st amendment out of the other side only when it suits you.
I find that to be one of the most unwholesome paradoxes of THR.
I get it. I've "heard" and "read" the rationale 100 times over. It still makes absolutely no sense to me, and the enforcement is........ Well, I'll say "selective" and leave it at that.
