Tell me something about Starline brass!

I went to the LGS after work to get some .44 mag brass to replace the Remington I was having trouble with. The guy said, "Try this. I think you'll like it and it's quite a bit cheaper."

So I got 150 cases of some brass called "Starline". Not familiar with it, but I'm sure the fine people here can tell me if it's worthwhile to use.

Good stuff, been making many flavors of brass for years.

Love it. I I've been loading .357 mag with it for a pretty long while and still haven't expired any of it yet, and I run H110 loads through it.

Excellent brass.
Use it for cast loads in 45-70, and 32-20.

Starline my preferred brand when I buy new brass.

I bought a bunch of .44 mag. stuff from a guy once, and this brand of brass raised MY eyebrows, never heard of it before. Seems like fine stuff though.

Like it. It's my first choice in new brass and what I look for in the "factory loads" of companies that don't make their own or license their headstamp. I believe Black Hills and Buffalo Bore, for example, use Starline for many of their loads.

Excellent stuff. It is my first choice in handgun brass.

Best you can buy. I really wish they would make rifle brass. Also wish I would have ordered more brass in early December like I had planned to. You can't purchase much from them right now.

I've been using Starline brass for years in 44 mag & 45 LC,and for a couple years in my 458 SOCOM.
They make some great brass!

Good brass. The only .44mag brass that I find better is IMI. Been shooting Starline for 15 years.

the 500 pieces of starline brass I have in 44mag are the best brass in my inventory.

I won't trade them, or sell them.

They are so uniform, you can use them for weight testing loaded cartridges to determine if they have the proper charge.

Absolutely the best.

I use Starline for all my new handgun brass. It's as good as it comes and better than anything else I've found. If they offered rifle brass I would buy it at once.

I will be surprised if anyone here has a bad report on Starline. During the last shortage I placed a couple of orders of brass that wasn't in stock, they arrived before the expected date on their website.

Ask your dealer why he stocks the other stuff. Starline is that good.

I prefer starline brass to Hornady for my .44mag and 45/70

Not to sound like a broken record but Starline brass is good stuff.

I never think twice about buying it if it an option. Unfortunately, even in good time, it is frequently sold out because it is popular.

Starline is excellent brass.

Too bad they don't make 7.5x55 Swiss brass.....bet they could sell a boatload of it to us K31 lovers.

Bought a batch of their 40 S&W brass and it was superb. All measurements were remarkably consistent, after inspecting 20 or so I did not worry about the rest and started loading. Great product A+, just with they made brass for my 6.5x55 :)

1+ on Starline rifle brass..They make an original length 2.125" .38-55 ( Win. & Rem. are only 2.080".

They do make some rifle brass: 45-70 Gov't, for example.

It's all straight walled. They don't make bottleneck cases. They do make some bottleneck pistol cases like 357sig. Should have clarified and said I wish they made bottleneck rifle cases like 308 :)

Like everyone before me, Starline is my go to brass mainly because I can't wear the case's out.lol. Pretty good stuff, and I have never seen Texas brass. Pretty interesting.

I use Starline for my 45/70 no problems with the brass.

Dragon, I've wondered myslef why they make bottleneck pistol cases but not rifle. I suppose it's a matter of economics, making what sells in the highest volume. But then, they also make uncommon brass like .38 TJ and .40 Super. I'd love to visit their factory.

As everyone has said, it's very good brass and I've used it for over 30 years. Just got some from Dillon in 357 Sig caliber.

Starline is great brass at a great price. I have some Midway 357 mag brass that was made by Starline, it has held up well to multiple max loads.

Well what the heck everybody else is chiming in so I'll also say that Starline is great. Cheapest stuff on the market and better quality than most of the regular guys (Rem, Win, etc).

I'd only consider buying anything else if Starline was out of stock.

Really good brass. Loading it for a few years in 9mm.

I've had nothing but great experiences with Starline stuff. To me, it's the benchmark for pistol brass.

Me like Starline too, use all time in 50/90.

Starline mahkes excellent brass. The only issue with it is the depth of the groove cut in 38 Special/357 Magnum brass which is very deep and thus does not allow use of the less expensive moonclips. The grroves in 38 Super brass are also deeper than other manufacturers which results in a very loose fir in moonclips for use in revolvers. I also believe there was an issue using their new 45 ACP brass in Dillon reloaders which required modification of the expander.

Another very pleased Starline customer - use it for most all my reloads for pistols and my 45/70 rifle.

One thing that you do want to note - the brass IS thicker than Winchester or even Remington brass. It has less internal volume than those brands in the 45/70 in particular. So, I adjust my powder charges downward slightly and still end up with similar MV of slightly higher powder charge weights in , for example, Winchester brass.

Starline is GTG. Some of the best.

Good stuff, works fine and last a long time. They are a great source for unusual brass too. I went through a phase with the 7.62 Tokarev and their stuff was great. Also their 45-70 Government stuff, as well as all the popular handgun brass.

The only trick is check their website frequently and get it when they have it!

The 454 gets a healthy diet of starline brass.
