Well - the frames! I am sure something is here in the archives but haven't found what I want.

What sources can you guys suggest for finding the frames that might be suitable .... which means in essence ..... the lenses cranked up higher.

If I can find what I have in mind then I'll go get some lenses put in. Optically, and since yet ANOTHER birthday ... I need all the help I can get!:D

P95Carry,

Can you share a little more info on what type of frames you are looking for?

gunnersalley .... thx for the response. :)

Well ... what I have in mind and am sure is available - somewhere - is a wire frame , lightweight deal .. but where the bridge is set lower and so the available lens is higher .. meaning that when head is tipped down, then you are not looking thru just that very top corner (mine always mist up .. well often).

Any ideas?

If I interpreted your request correctly, my suggestion would be the Decot Hy-Wyd (http://www.sportglasses.com). I've primarily seen them on shotgun shooters as they sit higher on the face than normal glasses and allow the shotgun to fit better.

Here are some of the features of the glasses:

-lenses set high and wide providing a wide field of vision
-optional Hy-Lo bridge allows variation in lens height to accommodate an individual's shooting position
-light weight frame in three sizes featuring interchangeable lenses
-40+ lens colors define the targets
-narrow bridge allows peripheral vision in nasal portion of lens
-brow bar eliminates fogging
-cable temples hold glasses in place

The only drawback to them is the price. You're looking at around a hundred bucks.

esheato . many thx indeed for the link .. looked at the site and seems nice gear tho yeah, as you say . pricey! I may give them a call Monday and talk it over ... it may be an expensive fix but ... could well be worth it.

Thx again, regards

Other brands of shooting glasses out there include the Zeiss Scopz, which adjust up and down on the bridge of the nose as needed, and company that has made aviator glasses for quite awhile (Randolph? I'll check it out and get back with some links).

I've always used inexpensive polycarbonate glasses by Wiley, Native or Bushnell, but now that I need correction I'll be forking over some serious change too. Let us know how you fare.

Yep, it was Randolph that makes the Ranger. Here's a site that shows some of them.

Rust .. much appreciate your trouble giving the feedback ..... I guess I am sorta ''on hold'' for now ... but still seeking info. I know this will not be a cheap excercise ... particularly as I am thinking rifle AND handgun.

I am still thinking of Decot ... but vacillating!!:p
