I ate lunch at a local sandwich shop today, when I went to pay at the register I saw a book of raffle tickets sitting on the counter for a gun raffle being ran by one of the local civic clubs. This is not surprising, but is less common around here than it once was, still it is nice to know I live in a place where such things have not became a cultural taboo. OH and in case you are wondering I did not buy a ticket, I was somewhat surprised at the price of $50 per ticket (I was low on cash from the weekend unexpected expenses), these things are usually $1-$5, maybe even $10.
