Hi All,

I received a new-to-me CZ-24 today. Upon unpacking it and performing initial inspection, I noticed that the hammer was cocked back. I proceeded to de-cock the hammer and discovered the trigger seemed stuck. In fact, it looked cock-eyed:

Notice how the lower part of the trigger seems recessed back into the frame? Now look at the picture from before it was shipped to me:

I noticed that the seller took the pistol completely apart, including the grips, to take pictures. I'm wondering if there is a simple adjustment somewhere that I should be looking for to address this?

Take the sideplate off and you should be able to see what is wrong.

To do that, remove the slide, then unscrew the small screw in the sideplate and push the sideplate up.

The trigger is still very much stationary. Granted, I'm not very mechanically inclined, so the resolution doesn't jump right out at me. Let me know if it does for you.

Digging into this a bit more. The issue only happens when the sideplate is on. With the sideplate removed, the trigger and action are fine. It appears that there is not enough clearance between the sideplate and the sear/trigger bar assembly. I will see if I can carefully remove these and inspect/clean. Any suggestions before I do so?

I see some areas I would look at. First, it looks like the trigger is sitting out a bit and not flush with the pin, so there may be dirt or grease behind it, pushing it out so it binds on the sideplate. Then check the sideplate to see if it is bent. If it is, you should be able to straighten it by tapping (tapping, not pounding) it with a light plastic hammer. The sear bar shows rub marks at the top rear, so it might be binding on the side plate. The sear bar could be bent, or the sideplate might be.

Looks MUCH rustier than mine. Clean it up and lube it, first. Also, it has a mag-disconnect which is much less obvious and might cause the problem. That's what I dislike the most about mine, the mag-disconnect, and also its inability to cycle hollow-points.
