Does anyone out there have the newest Hornady manual, who can tell me if they publish an accuracy load for this bullet?

It's newer than any of the data I have available.

Isn't the Z-Max the same thing as the V-Max, with a different color tip?

Yes. It is just a green V-Max.

I got one for use with some reloader 7 that I picked up. I believe it was ...., but not for sure. Gonna try it out on Saturday when I pick up the new toy.

I've found some great loads using Varget and Benchmark. 26.0gr of Varget and seated to middle of the cannelure (2.24" if I'm not mistaken). 25.0gr Benchmark seated to 2.24". Using Lake City brass trimmed to 1.75". I couldn't tell you velocities but they were hitting the same POI at 100yards as American Eagle 55gr fmj out of a Bushmaster Carbon 15.

+1 on the Varget load with 55 gr bullets. 26.0 gr has worked well with the Hornady 55 gr SP and the Nosler 55 gr Varmageddon. I fully anticipate it working well with the Hornady 55 gr Z-Max as well. (And I have 1000 of the Z-Max on hand to verify with, when I get around to it.) Again I presume we are talking about the 55 gr Z-Max in the .223 Remington.
