Please suggest a 10 rounds 9mm pistol.

In case I have to sell my pistol which is more than 10 r,
1) First concern US gun. Not too old gun because still can get parts support.
2) Don’t want DOA gun. My favorite is SA/DA .
3) Price is not more than around $450.00.
4) Metal or alloy gun first , but still concern plastic one.

I have searched but found only a few such as S & W 39 ( too old, developed in 1954).

S&W 3906., All stainless, 9 round mags +1 in the tube, bet your life reliable and tack driving accurate.

Only made for a few years. Superb single stack 9mm. :)

If you want to buy a 10 round limited handgun, just look at the list of guns you can buy in MA. We are limited to 10 round magazines. I tried to find the list, but keep getting 404 error on all links I try.

It won't make the top of your list, but if your top picks don't work out consider a Glock 26. Price, parts, and US made. Not sure if the 26 specifically is US-made yet, but Glock is now shipping some models that are made here.

A 3rd gen S&W is always a good option. Easily under your $450 price tag even now. A used CZ Rami is a very nice carry option also, tough to find though. For polymer frame Glock 26 is a good choice also.

Im guessing every manufacturer makes a 10rd version for the states that have mag cap laws.. Now it would be up to you to decide if you wanted to live with the thickness of a gun designed as a double stack and not be able to use it.

One of my personal favorites in your requirements besides the 3rd gen Smiths would be the Beretta 92 Type M (8 +1).

Just buy 10-round magazines for the guns you already own.

A Ruger SR9C or just an SR9 with a 10 round magazine. I tell you this because I've got one. But the cheapest way would be just buying 10 round magazines for the pistol you already got. Hope this helps.

What will be the purpose of the gun? In my post above I realized that I automatically assumed carry and therefore recommended a subcompact. If it were a night stand gun, plinker, or target pistol, that would change the answer.

I think it bans the magazine. It doesn't even mention the words "gun" or "firearm" and It would be stupid to ban the guns. And in fact theres no gun with "that" kind of magazine. You can always find bigger, or smaller capacity magazines for the same gun. About the law, what happens with the magazines manufactured After 1994?

You'll need to dispose of the mags over 7 rounds, and buy new ones that hold 7 or less. Someone will make them to fit your guns - it may take a little time.

If you have family out of state, ship the old ones to them. If the law gets overturned or you move, get them back!

Smith and Wesson makes 10 round magazines for the M&P line of pistols.

These are not blocked larger capacity magazines but a different design. About the bottom third of the magazine is a plastic block that is the floor plate, albeit a couple inches long.

I carry the Glock 30SF.....10 rounds of .45acp....better, IMO.

In NY 10 round mags will be grandfathered in. They can only be loaded to 7 rounds. They do not have to be converted to only be able to hold 7 rounds. Ridiculous. Put 8 bullets in by mistake and I believe it's a felony.

I can think of some of the older compact S&W like the 3913 which were single stacks, also the older Sig P220 which was a single stack magazine (not US made, I know, but you have really narrowed your choices down too much).

If you were OK with single action pistols, there are a bazillion 1911 types out there.

I felt that the trigger was so heavy and I had to use two fingers then I can pulled it.

During the last week of December, I ordered a pair of 15 round mags from Midway, which IIRC were shown as backordered to 2/13/2013. I got an email on Saturday saying they had shipped, so basically right on schedule. I also had some brass ordered on backorder early in the year that shipped on time.

No guarantee, but it looks to me like Midway is pretty reliable about doing backorders only if they have a realistic expected date of getting the merch in their hands. Notice that most of the stuff like bullets and primers that are out of stock are on "no backorder" status. I assume this means they don't know when they will be able to get it.

Nope. None of the 1911's she has tried have suited her. The closest thing to a 1911 that worked was a Star Model B, but they come with their own set of issues (lack of parts and magazines).

My PPS with the 8rd mag provides a full grip. It's by no means a full size gun, but it's a single stack full-sized grip. The extender on the mag actually marry's quite well with the gun.

I've also found the Ruger SR9c has a really thin double stack grip. It's probably the thinnest double stack I've shot. If you haven't tried that yet it might be worth a look.

You are in Virginia. Why would you have to sell a gun that holds more than ten rounds in the magazine? That's not going to happen in this state.

I knew there is only very few chance will happen in Virginia if FD has passed new gun law.Most likely I can legally keep it.

I second the Ruger P89. It's no longer produced, but only by a couple years. Still available for a decent price on Gunbroker or at local pawn shops.

Aluminum frame (no composite) and steel slide. It eats everything I feed it, from Winchester white box bulk, 115gr - 147gr, cheap laquered steel cased foreign imported ammo, custom hand loads... Never once had a fail to feed/fire/eject.

It is very over-built. I jokingly tell my friends it's the kind of gun that a tank could drive over, then you could pick it up, empty the magazine on the tank, then use the gun to beat the tank into submission. But seriously, save the ammo, beat the tank into submission to start with.

None of the currently proposed Federal level legislation requires that you give up pre-ban guns nor magazines (and most of what is proposed isn't likely to pass).

Pass or not, you're going through a lot of effort here for no reason. Besides, why struggle to stock up on 10-round magazines when those will be the type you'd still actually be able to buy after such a ban hits?

Also, for the most part ProMag magazines are pretty low quality. I wouldn't spent any significant amount of money on them.

I'm confused. You are in Virginia, correct? Is Virginia considering changing their laws? Are you moving to NY? If not, don't worry about NY's laws.

I have not read the responses so I'm not sure if its been mentioned... Glock 26. With its flush mag it's easy to carry and also accepts larger glock mags making a some what full size gun.

Yes, I am living in Virginia and not going to move to NY. I am sorry for confusing you. So far Virginia has no news to change gun law . Now I believe even FD government eventually passed new ban gun law. ( most likely not so easy), Virginia maybe doesn't 100% follow and execute that. I bought a 10 rounds magazine just for in case this kind of magazine becomes difficult to buy at that time.
