The feather is likely an addition to allow one to test wind direction. You never know how much wind drift will affect your close-quarter indoor shots. Those drafty windows and ceiling fans must cause all types of trouble. :D

Since all you can see of the actual rifle is a little bit of barrel, I wouldn't be suprised if there's just an old NEF single shot under all that...:scrutiny:
