Plug screws for Rem 700 front & rear sights?

What size plug screws do I need when I remove the front and rear sights from my Rem 700? Thanks!

They should be 6-48 x 1/8" long.

With Remington brand screws @ $5 each from MidwayUSA, the Forster's are a bargain @ $7 for 10.

Better yet, I found the ones with the stop even cheaper! Remington is out of their minds what they want for a screw! Thanks guys!

The filler screws from the receiver work fine if you still have them.

Try your local gunsmith- They take them out when they mount scopes and should have plenty.

The dome head gives a much nicer "finished" look.

I bought a small box of screws from Midway, blued, different sizes, just for this purpose. Have a rifle that scope screws were lost when mounts removed, fit perfectly.
