All,

Just bought a nice tactical 308 in remmy 700 HB fashion. Got it from Redhawk rifles with a DBM kit and a B&C stock. Cleaned it with patches to run any manufacturing debris out of the bore. Just hoppes 9, some drying patches and a 3 oil drop patch down the bore to coat it as instructed by many a 'barrel break in' thread research.

Loaded up 10 rounds of 165 grain Midway blems under 44 grains of IMR 4895 ignited by WLP primers. Some flattish primers, but still not in the hot zone for this round. However, I used LC Match brass, so volume may be a little low from typical hunting brass. Looks like it's about the limit for this brass though, will move from here down in charge.

So far, I've put 4 rounds down range. Each round followed by a hoppes 9 soaked brush section of a boresnake and a few drops of hoppes gun oil on the tail. Pulled it through 4 times per shot, bore is clean as a whistle so far.

Came home and ran a few cleaning patches through it to find mild fouling. Ran some copper solvent through, soaked it ten minutes and didn't see a hint of blue on clean out, only more carbon fouling. Bore is as bright and shiny awaiting tomorrow's President's day shooting session. Two sessions in one weekend, nice.

Liking this new rifle so far. But still too early to really tell for any accuracy reporting.
