Hi everyone,
I noticed when i had gotten my xtp bullets that they seem to slide in
the case without much force.I have not loaded any yet because I"m trying to
get accurate load data for 115 xtp and 231.I am thinking I"m going to have
to put a crimp on the case, not sure how much? maybe just enough, but not
too much. Any info would be great. Thanks!

That's a 9mm? It sounds like you've over belled/flared the case. Any "crimp" will not really help you. You may well have to turn down the expander stud, but I'd doubt it.

Crimp cannot correct improper case neck tension.
Don't even think about it!

You need to figure out why the bullets are loose.

Could be:
1. Sizing die is not screwed down to the shell holder.
9mm is a tapered case, and if the sizing die is not all the way down it will not get fully sized.

2. Too much flair.

3. Your expander plug is too large. It should be at least .003" smaller then bullet dia.
Or no larger then .352". The one in my RCBS die is .350" and work perfectly.
All it really does is keep the belling section centered in the sized case.

Hi Timothy, I had the same trouble when I first started loading and I was flaring the mouths to much. You only want the flare to be enough to just start the bullet in the mouth and no more.
