got a few questions about a cz97.

-what is a fair price for these? a local gun store had one for $500. i think this is a little high. what do yall think? 2 non-preban clips come with the gun, by the way.

-also, can they be had with a decocker?

I don't think that there are any mags for the CZ-97 that hold more than 10 rounds. (Didn't it come out after the ban, anyway?) If somebody else says otherwise, though, listen to them.

Also, There is no decocker on the CZ-97B model, and that's the only variant I've ever heard of for the 97. The manual safety will only engage when the hammer is cocked, and to "decock" you have to pull the trigger and slowly lower the hammer.

Sorry, I don't really have anything as far as the price goes, though to my naive ears $500 sounds a little high.

No decocker available, only choices are the finish options.
$500 is a fine price, I paid almost $600 out the door for a glossy blue one.

On the other hand, cz75b's are available in many, many configurations, finishes, and options.
$500 wouldn't be out of line for a PCR or a P01, but a garden variety cz75b, $400 would be as high as I would go.

I don't know of ANY mags for the CZ or Tanfoglio frame that offer more than 10 x .45 acp rounds.

The .45 round is big and fat, and the mag is pretty darned full when 10 are put in it.

To hold more than 10, you'd have to have a LOT wider grip, or a lot longer tube. I've never seen one... even for guns made BEFORE the ban.

I know that the area that you live in will affect price quite a bit. THe CZ97 is a great gun by the reports that I have heard and the ones that I have handled. The standard mags for the 97 are 10 rounders. No other ones available from my research. Witness 45 ACP mags work in the CZ. THere is no decock option as stated previously. $500 is pretty close to what I would have to pay for a new one here in Indianapolis, IN. The two new 97's that I have seen in shops were listed at $489 and $479. I have seen used ones that looked great for $369 and $400.

Everyone claims that they are more accurate than a gun at that price should be and that they are tough. Some people put in a heavier spring and shoot 45 Super out of them. They are big and they seem tougn.

I've been lusting after one for a couple years now, but other things keep trumping it as I already ahve a nice 45.

$500 for one off the shelf is a reasonable price. Shop around the auction sites and FS/FT parts of boards and you will have trouble finding anything below $479. Tack on cost of shipping and a transfer fee, and $500 is, like others have said, completley reasonable.

For some reason, I REALLY want one in 10mm. I'd be all over such a thing if it existed.

Five-hundred is a nice price for a new in box CZ-97B.
Some of the dealers around Me wanted about six-hundred dollars. One wanted six-fifty!
The lowest price I've seen so far on the web is from (
They want $479.99 for the black polycoat model, $492.99 for the glossy blue.
I'd get it at that price. It's a nice pistol. :D

I got mine for $450 a few years ago (2000 or 2001). Nice gun, but haven't had a chance to shoot it much. Probally have 30 rounds through it so far.... :(
