Just curious, do any of you 1911 owners run magwell grips even though you don't have a magwell? If so, care to share a picture or two? I did some google image searching but wasn't able to come up with the right choice of words to find any pictures of this type of setup.
I think I would rather have my grips flush with the bottom even if there weren't a magwell, but not being able to get a decent picture of one, I just can't picture it in my head very well.

Do a search for the Les Baer Premier II. Baer puts square bottom grips on many of his pistols. The Premier II is one I know he puts the square bottom grips on.

Your just talking about no bevel?

It sure looks like there is a bevel on that grip panel.

I was thinking more along the lines of the grips that are flat-bottomed, but also extended towards the rear to cover the pin that holds the MSH in place
edit: The Les Baer Premier II is exactly what I was looking for, did an image search for that and got a few good ones. Thanks!

A few years ago I found some magwells on the NUMRICH site that fit under the grips (but held in place by the grips and grip screws), looked like factory-installed or custom mag wells, worked well, and were very inexpensive. That seemed to be a better alternative for me than unusual grips, to me. I wish I had kept photos -- later sold the 1911.
