I could not resist the e-mail I got from CDNN this week. They had Sig P226R pistols that are Homeland Security trade-ins for $499. They are advertised as very good/excellent, have night sights (not sure how old/strong), one 12-rd mag, and a holster. It's .40 S&W with the DAK trigger, and I picked up two other factory mags for $30 apiece. Interestingly, lately I'd been thinking about a full-size pistol to complement my Glock 19. I wanted something bigger than 9mm, and I was looking at .45 ACP pistols but not finding anything that I liked. I had also looked at Sigs a few months ago and loved the DAK trigger but not the $800-$900 price tags. Assuming the condition is as advertised, I think I'll be happy with my CDNN Sig, which should arrive by the week's end. Does anybody have any (hopefully happy) thoughts on these guns? :)

I haven't handled any of the trade-ins, but I have shot several SIG 226 and 229 with the DAK trigger...including the DHS ones. I have bought, or helped friend pick out, a few of LE trade-in SIGs.

You'll likely be very happy. Even if they have carry wear, mt experience has been that they are well maintained and in good shape.

The DAK has excellent feel, is reliable and very easy to shoot. The short (secondary reset) is nice in case you short stroke the reset or just prefer to shoot without releasing the trigger as far.

The trick is to run a DAK as you would a revolver.

Don't scrimp on grease to use for lube on the rails. There is an article by Flork on the Grayguns website which is the definitive SIG lubrication guide...ignore it at your guns peril
