i have about 8 of these from somewhere....

the bullet is 0.31 thick and 1.232 long

case is 2.265 long and the head is 0.474 and down at the shoulder its 0.435

there is no markings at all and the weird thing is there is NO powder! i pulled some of the bullets and they are empty.. they are live primer but no powder.

also the bullets are different shapes

That sounds right.

But why they would be primed with no powder is certainly a mystery.

Could be WWII Japanese booby-trap rounds I have heard rumors of.
The plain bullet on the left with the odd base would be especially suspect.
It could be filled with High Explosive!
(No, I just made that story up!) :D

The other bullet with the cannulure looks like a typical military FMJ.

Maybe more likely they were somebodys display dummy rounds or something.
They might have pulled the bullets and dumped the powder then reseated the bullets in the primed cases.

I did some of that myself with my budding cartridge collection when I was about 10 years old.

Check your Sierra rifle manuals if you have one. I have 3 different editions, and have found several cartridges that are very foreign to us here in he states. 2nd best option, here. 3rd best option, dig a hole in the yard and forget about it. Lol
