I would like to make my own tannerite to save money when shooting .anyone know exactly what type of aluminum powder I need to make it work.If this post does not belong here I will do my best to get it removed.

When I was reading up on making it you just used aluminum window screen shredded in a blender to a Fine powder.

You want the aluminum powder as fine as it can be. Whether by grinding down screens or coke cans or buying it off the shelf. Doesn't really matter where the aluminum comes from as long as you get it nice and fine.

You could always check the internet. never know though

aluminum powder is available from pyrotechnic suppliers. If you order the powder and oxidizers at the same time, bad things will happen to you.

Ah yes, Tannerite...the good old days.

Fine mesh aluminum, ammonium perchlorate and prilled ammonium nitrate. It's also on the MSDS patent list, public record. I think they also throw in some BS like titanium to make it 'proprietary'.

FWIW, there is a substantial difference between "powdered" and "shredded"

Just buy it online, the powdered stuff, from any reputable supplier- no big thing !
