Here is a text copy:
http://observationpostblog.wordpress.com/2013/02/22/full-text-of-oregon-hb-3200-just-in-case-it-disappears/

Here is a .pdf file copy.

I don't think it has a chance as is, but after its been hacked and rewritten, who knows. Kinda scary to see it all written down in black and white. I wish I had something smart or insightful to say, but I'm still in a bit of shock.

Some highlights:

Creates crime of unlawful possession or transfer of assault
weapon or large capacity magazine. Punishes by maximum penalty of
10 years' imprisonment, $250,000 fine, or both.

(2) In order to register an assault weapon under this section,
a person must:
(a) Be the lawful owner of the assault weapon prior to the
effective date of this 2013 Act; and
(b) Submit to a criminal background check conducted by the
Department of State Police to confirm that the person is not a
prohibited possessor under ORS 166.250.

(4) A person may not register more than one assault weapon and
three large capacity magazines under this section. Additional
assault weapons and large capacity magazines must be disposed of
in the manner specified in section 3 of this 2013 Act.
(5) A registered owner of an assault weapon or large capacity
magazine is required to:
(a) Securely store the assault weapon or large capacity
magazine pursuant to rules and regulations adopted by the
department;
(b) Allow an inspector from the department to inspect the
storage of assault weapons and large capacity magazines to ensure
compliance with this subsection;

I'll turn this over to the brain trust to discuss. I'm still trying to fully comprehend what I just read.

Good grief, that's absolutely horrific.

*10* years prison if you violate it, and you only get to grandfather ONE firearm and 3 magazines for it?????

I'd bet this is probably some HB proposed by someone trying to make a name for themselves, kind of like Missouri's HB 545.

If it was Missouri you would be correct. But Oregon has gotten pretty liberal, with the long term influx of Californians.

We are just in the beginning stages of this latest assault on the 2A. The Bloomberg PAC is gearing up for future elections of antis they hope to put in office. They are in for the long hall until they achieve confiscation.

Holy crap, liberals are spreading to Colorado and now Oregon. We need to build a fence along the Californian border as much as Mexico's. Lol.

There are also the Californians that moved there to get away from the anti's.

I hope for the best of my neighbors. I don't want to go to jail while visiting my grandma in eastern OR just because I may have left a dreaded "assault weapon" in my truck.

Mebbe we could merge these..........

But if you are just noticing this now, you need to be a member of the OFF- they let us know hours after it hit.

To me, forced surrender or sale is confiscation by another name.
