I have a load for american select 158 jhp in 357 mag cases but would prefer to load in 38 special cases for one event.

So, does anyone have any loads for american select in 38 special using 158 jhp? +P levels would be fine but not necessary. I've not been able to find any information anywhere.

Yes, I know that there are better powders available but I would like to use my supply of american select if possible.

I don't use Am Select showmebob but I do see in my Lee 2nd Edition:

38 Spl
158 gr lead,
min 3.8 gr = 855 fps
max 4.3 gr = 950 fps
16900 psi

38 Spl +P
158 gr lead,
min 4.1 gr = 914 fps
max 4.3 gr = 950 fps
16900 psi

I don't see where it tells me what the barrel length is for those details and doesn't indicate where +P starts unless it's the 4.1 gr
