I found a pound of it today for $35.00 so I thought I would try it out in 223. If I had more of it, I would give it a whirl in my 308 since I am really liking the ball powder thing right now.

I tried CFE223 in 17 Remington and it did not ring my bell. But, I have not worked with it very much in 17 Remington.

But, I like it in 204 Ruger.

One of these days, i will try it in 223 Remington

Been playing with it in my Savage 12 varmint gun in 223. Haven't done any extended shooting yet, but every indication is there is a lot less copper fouling. I'll know for sure after my May dog hunt.

I've loaded and shot about 60 rounds of it, I like it. It burns clean, seems to be very accurate, I'd buy again. If its avail. grab it, grab 2 lbs., you won't be sorry. Loaded in my Rem. .223 rifle.

I tried working up a load in my .308 GAP with it (168gr SMK in Lapua cases and Fed match primers). One thing to watch out for is excessive pressures as you approach the high end. I started seeing flattened primers and/or soot rings around the primers about 0.7gr below the max listed by Hodgdon and blew out a primer at 0.4gr below max. That's where I stopped. I've never had that kind of pressure signs when still below the max in any gun before. Granted, the GAP gun has a tighter chamber than most but still I was surprised.

I didn't test enough to get a feel for its accuracy but I can say that those high velocity numbers Hodgdon advertises are true. Even before I got into the pressure signs I was getting higher velocities than with any other powder I've tested.
