New Ruger SR9c

Bought a Ruger SR9c yesterday. Am really impressed with its effort to be both a bedside table/home defense and carry gun in one package. I've owned a lot of pistols, from a Glock 21 to a Kel Tec 380, and a lot in between, and this splits the difference as well as I've seen. I liked my Glock 26 but the grip angle of Glocks is not something I'm going to keep working on. If they were normal I'd keep them. Love my new Ruger

Congrats on your new ruger! They are great guns...We got one for my wife to be her home/horse back riding/carry gun. And im not saying its a girls gun or anything it just fit her perfectly and i steal it sometimes to carry for the night. I find it is extremely versatile with its ambidextrous furniture and grip inserts.
Adjustable sights and the ability to carry 17 rnd mags make it stand out as one of the best guns on the market in that price range (we paid 400 at buds). I dont even know why anyone would ever buy the fullsize model haha...grest buy! Enjoy!!!!!

Good guns.
Actually Ruger has done well on the whole line, LCP, LC9 and SR9C.

Great choice! After trying out various compact 9mm.s I found the Ruger SR9c fit me the best and had a number of really great design features to it.

My wife tried a friend's SR9 and was so pleased with it she bought three: SR9, SR9c and SR40. She took her time and did as you did trying Glocks (17, 19, 26, 22, 23, 27), my "T" model BHP and several others. After several months and many hundreds of rounds down range, she bought the SR9. Within a month she owned the three.
I like Glocks, but these guns have proven to be reliable, accurate and generally a pleasure to shoot. And, they've been flawless with everything I've loaded: 115 grain, 124 grain, cast, jacketed and plated.

Good choice. Mine runs like a champ, and for the price it can't be beaten. If you can find any ammo just keep shooting.

Congrats. Great guns, the SR compact series are my favorite polymer guns. I'm just waiting "patiently" for them to release a SR45c. Complete the set, ya know.

If I could only own one firearm, I think I would have to go with an SR9c. Great CCW, great HD gun, easily duty capable. The trigger and recoil spring are both very well done. I have more than 2,000 rounds through mine, with no stops.
The only thing I'd change would be the surface treatment. Needs something like Tenifer.

Carried one today, and another plus is that it is Made In America.

Yes the LCI is rather obnoxious. But if you aren't afraid of a little kitchen table gunsmithing, it is easily done. Ever so lightly file down the tab that pushes against the cartridge in the chamber. Stop when it reaches your preference.

To each their own, but I like the LCI just fine.

I bought the wife one for V-day, it warmed up enough one day a couple weeks ago to
go try it at the outdooor range, It performs flawlessly, She had already owned the G26
for a few years now, but she can get ahold of the SR9C a little better,
Nice gun ,
Now if the ammo shortage would ease up , I wouldnt feel so bad about burning thru a couple boxes of shells !!

As far as I'm concerned, hats off to Ruger for making such an excellent firearm available to our gun brothers and sisters stuck in California. They deserve good guns too.
As far as the LCI itself is concerned, I simply pay attention to the important things in a sidearm and don't get hung up over something that never gets in the way, isn't even visible when shooting, and does not impede functionality.
YMMV, as always.

Love my SR9c...It's my EDC.
Reliable, accurate, easy to carry IWB (even with the 17 round mag in).
Ruger hit a home run with the SR9c...:D

Love my SR9C!
Crisp trigger, accurate as can be, fits my hand perfectly.
No complaints here!!!

There is a manual safety and that was a deal killer for me. If they ever make one without I will buy it in a heartbeat. I like how they feel.

If you don't like a manual safety...don't use it!
I won't own a handgun WITH OUT a manual safety!

Ditto. I owned this gun a couple years ago. Decent trigger, manual safety (a necessity), and two high-capacity magazines. You'll be very happy with it, as I was with mine.

I think the lci is interesting. Tactile indicator?

I had a tough time comparing the M&P9c and the Ruger SR9c. It came down to feel and the lack of LCI and safety on the M&P9c so this is what I chose.

If you life in a state that doesn't require a LCI, . . . and you have an SR-9(c), . . . would there be any legal implications of grounding that little bugger down [or at least to where it is just barely sticking up]?

If you follow the basic rule that all guns are loaded, don't need no stinkin' indicator! Pull the trigger-no bang, reload.

SR9c and full size SR9 are two of the most underrated guns on the market in my opinion. Great pistols at a decent price point plus backed by Ruger customer service (if you ever need it).
p.s. The LCI has never been an issue. I've kind of forgotten its even there.

Make no mistake, . . . I am seriously considering an SR-9c for conceal carry. Just find that LCI WAY over the top.

I won't own a handgun WITH OUT a manual safety!
My problem is, if the safety is accidentally activated and I am not in the habit of using safeties then I may draw and pull the trigger with nothing happening, the last thing you want when your life depends on it.
